    Tell that to Jason Allen...

Wow. What a brutal way to contextualize the Satele trade. So true. So sad.

So Vontae Davis is very confident in his abilities and talents to become a top NFL CB. To me that is a great mindset for a young kid to have. I don't understand why some of you are giving him a hard time for those comments.

As long as he's a team player and listens, he'll be fine.

Davis is much smarter than Allen. Much more talented, IMO.

Forgetting the report in the Sun-Sentinel today hinting that Davis' score on the wonderlic might not be genuine, the fact of the matter is that Jason Allen showed insane athletic ability during the pre-draft process in 2006 and it certainly didn't help him in avoiding the label of "bust" in many peoples minds.

The idea that combine numbers will help him achieve any level of success in this league is asinine.

I never said that, hell I didn't even know what his combine results were except that he performed well. I just think he's got more talent, and better coaching around him. Not to mention the burning desire to be great. You count discount those things.

I didn't like the pick, but I'm not saying that he's going to be a success or failure in the Dolphins uniform, either.

All I'm saying is the idea that he's too athletic to be a bust (as stated above) is ridiculous.

i only quoted the first paragraph so my quote was ridiculous huge..

but i got to tell you, you almost had my thoughts word for word on every pick, except Vontae Davis. which is why my draft grade was a C+.

the only way i could see White being a 2nd round value is if he developed into a decent WR, which i thought was possible before and STILL do, but why are they still pushing him as a QB?

love the value on smith as well. exact thoughts on Turner, about a round to high, but can live with him. Hartline is a joke of a pick.

dont know to much about Nalbone so i cant really make a real opinion on that pick

love the value in Clemons and Gardner

and would of rather had a ton of prospect in the 7th, but...its the 7th so...

edit: oh yea, as well as the Satele comment. WTMF?

I think Vontae's character concerns are overblown, he has no off the field issues he's just cocky. Nothing wrong with that, we have competent coaches who can keep him under control.

    with better hands.

When someone refers to themselves in the 3rd person that should set off every red flag and alarm bell you have. Hopefully there are enough strong personalities to help him get his head right or 3 years from now we'll be calling him a bust, or worse, a club house cancer.

CK, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Much appreciated and I have been looking forward to this. Can anyone talk Boomer into doing something similar?

    Again, Thank You!

I think this will turn out to be a good draft.

The fact is that no one will know how good for 2-3 years.

Referring to himself in the 3rd person didn't really hurt Deion Sanders ability to cover WR's.

how could this warrant anything but 5 stars? you're disclaimer about opinions and forecasting was terrific. you're insight was great. i was a bit more optimistic on vontae than you, but a difference of opinion doesn't lessen this awesome effort. nice job, and a nice job at the draft chat too!

edit: a thread im glad to use my 5,000th post in.

    agreed:yes:
    however no draft is perfect
look at the gems we gleaned in the last draft
no team can bat a 1000 in an NFL draft
Parcells picks consistently much better than most
he knows how to build a winner in the NFL
