Brain Hartline... wow. I honestly don't know to much about him, but still we already had depth at WR. And we use this draft to add two more average WRs when we could have picked a solid WR at 44 or 56. This draft really has me scratching my head...
What are they doing??... We could have packaged pick #44, along with the last two picks we just used on WR's for A. Boldin!! I'm not liking these day 2 picks at all.... M~J
ooooooooooooook?? with the wc obviously becoming a bigger staple of our offense why pick 3 mediocre reciecers(3 if you count pat white). i feel o-line couldv'e gotten some help here at the gaurd position or maybe secondary again,t.e and dt. very confusing day today thats for sure.i didn't mind the turner pick but 2 back to back?
If you guys remember, the FO did this last year too. Doubling up and taking two players at certain positions.
Me either. Yeah, we did need a Big WR with some size but we got that. We have a couple of questionable picks. I was really expecting a LB with that pick
Its not that they are doubling A position, its THE position. We already had a glut of midlevel talent at WR, lacking the elite one. Seems we are just exacerbating the issue unless they really feel someone can step up.
Two things I noticed about this pick: 1.) Pat White is really going to play QB and will be listed as a QB. He might play some reciever, but he will be a QB first and foremost. I expect him to be our Wild Cat QB and our 3rd string QB as well. All the John Beck lovers get ready, he is going to be traded for something shortly. 2.) The clock got all the way down to like 30 seconds. That tells me there was some internal discussions as to who we should pick. I think certain people wanted to go after one player and other people wanted another player. Something was definately going on in our War Room, I just hope we ended up picking the right player and that there isn't a divide in the War Room now.
Basically we got 2 CBs and 3 WRs in this draft. the passing game on both sides are being addressed this year. looks like Tuna and Co. are complacent with our running game on offense and pass rush/run stopping on defense.
But there's a difference between what he wants, and what he'll be willing to settle for. I think that if he was traded to Miami, we'd be able to work out a long-term deal that both sides would be happy / satisfied with... M~J
No nose tackle,No outside linebacker but we did get a special teamer in Hartline(MAYBE) Hope JT comes back or Wake is all world
Apparently they feel a lot better about LB and NT than I do. Must be wanting heavy competition at WR. Not following the thinking with two mid round WR.
Yeah, but there's really nothing solid saying that Arizona would take a 2. Just sports reporter BS. Seriously.
Guarantee he won't be on this roster come 2010. I watch a lot of Ohio State football. This guy isn't even worthy of being mentioned as an NFL caliber "prospect" He'll have fun on South Beach, though:
Parcells mustve taken this draft off. I always thought Parcells liked players that were set position guys not freakish athletes.
Seriousness is something I take very seriously, and when the Cards said they would field 2nd round offers for Boldin this weekend, I thought they were serious... IN TUNA WE TRUST....
YEah, but I'm not convinced the Cards put that out there - I only saw it reported as "NFL Source" type of thing.
I would of put money on the fact that we would address CB but ultimately focus on a few LB (Outside and Inside) and splash a WR (I was hoping Nicks if anyone, but Ramses Barden as a goal line specialist if not Nicks) and a NT and perhaps another lineman... What's going on now is beyond me. I'm wondering If Ireland has control of the draft at this point... This is not a Parcells draft. I just watched highlights of this Hartline kid... OMFG. This guy can't run a clean route to save his life... This kid is going to suck balls and we just wasted a 4th on him. What a god damn joke.
Jasper Brinkley Dannell Ellerbe Frantz Joseph Darry Beckwith we better end up with one of those ILBs in round 5. thats some major talent dropping this from from that position.
I just watched some highlights too. Looks like they used him for a lot of dink and dunk passes across the middle... a la wes welker. He seems to have pretty good hands, and looks to be a gunner on special teams: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JiSSlyWy70&feature=related"]YouTube - Brian Hartline HUGE hit[/ame] I guess if they were hoping to move Bess to a more primary role and have this kid for special teams and short yardage passes, he looks to fit that bill... But I agree with most I think we needed help elswhere... perhaps there was no one else on the board at a position of need they rated higher or were confident we could get later?
Want to feel better guys??? The Oakland Raiders just picked a guy that doesn't even have a profile on NFL.com in the 4th round. Almost every single player has a NFL.com profile, even if they probably aren't going to be drafted. They don't even have his height and weight on there lol. This is 'effin Hilarious in my book. check it out: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/slade-norris?id=238421
James Casey gone. I wonder if the FO was wanting one of these guys to fall EDIT: And Ingram to the Iggles..
