I've also heard that there is something about episode 6 that sets it good and really gets the ball rolling. I hope its true.

Interesting, that she would admit that, essentially saying that 2-5 weren't the "real direction" of the show, so to speak.

I just keep looking for the trademark Whedon characters, the ones you fall in love with; haven't found a single one on this show.

Contrast that with Firefly, in which I I fell in love with every character the first time I watched it. Well, OK, maybe not Jayne...he grew on me.

But those were as engaging as any characters I've encountered in film or literature. And I didn't even catch the show from the first episode! I went back later to watch the whole series, but even catching the arc in the middle was magical.

And I figured out/realized one more thing that was bothering me about this show: the fact that they whore her out.

She can do anything, be anything - and they whore her out for sex?!

    It's ****ed up.

edit: The FBI guy (Halo) is a joke...Barney Fife for the new millennium. I mean, an abandoned warehouse???!!! Seriously?!

    This 4th ep was better.

Seeing Sierra act like something other than a bukkake victim was refreshing; the bit with Echo going so annoyingly...well, "Sierra," was grinding.

 I loved the "blue sky" reference and its similarity to Blue Sun. But the scientist character is still trying too hard to be Wash...the "It's not my fault!" reference is proof.

They really need to find a way to make the scientist at least a little funny.

I just watched this week's episode. Like a flaccid *****, this show gets less sturdy as each week passes.

I'm gonna partition my mental hard drive and wait for the 6th episode.

Why Wheadon would hand his brilliant concept off and have it be ground into dust is beyond me. But yesterday's episode was just more of the same.

The only person who remains the tiniest bit intriguing is the neighbor, Mellie. And that might only be because of her epic rack. In fact I'm sure it is.

I liked this week's a bit better than the last two. That might be because Amy Acker was in it a lot. She is the doctor with the scares. She is just too adorable. Hopefully Joss and Eliza are right that the 6th episode really gets the ball rolling.

I too liked last night's episode. I think the story (and the show) really begins next week. Should be good, imo.

Well episode 6 is when the network's involvement stops. Apparently everything in 1-5 was pretty much one episode in the original (check around online for the original scripts). Shall see where Joss takes it from there. I do agree though that the show is desperately lacking likable characters.

    WOW!

What a difference a writer makes.

That was as different from any previous episode as you could get.

Amazing, and it makes one wonder why Wheadon didn't do this from the beginning.

You could definitely tell Joss wrote that one. It was funny for the first time. And there was a lot going on, much of it interesting. The previews for next week looked good too.

Yes...even the scientist guy was finally funny.

    A great episode.

No talk about this past Friday's episode? Or the teaser for NEXT week's episode? I'm disappointed.

I should take some blame for that. I've been busy. And when I haven't been busy I've been sitting on my rear end.

It was interesting to see some of Caroline's past. But I was a bit disappointed in her 'we have to save the animals' angle. Too borderline hippie for me. But seeing everyone all mellowed out was fun.

The teaser for next week looks good. It almost seems like too big of an episode to not be a season finale. Should be good.

It actually showed how profoundly the fallout from the break-in affected her. She went from dewey-eyed idealist to being ready to sign her life away for five years.

I just watched ep 7. I thought it was solid. Although I was a little confused, how come when Echo's handler asked her the 1st time if she wanted a treatment she said no? I thought they always say yes? It was funny to see the scientist and the head lady acting goofy. He was in his underwear, lmao.

Pretty good episode last night. I was wondering how you have the dolls awaken so early in the series. But they pulled that off nicely.

Amy Acker's character, beyond the fact that she is beautiful, is the most intriguing to me. As of last night's episode I'm not totally sure where her loyalty lies. And I'm not sure why Alpha didn't kill her, even though he cut her up pretty bad. I hope she has a bigger role in the series.

The ratings weren't too good. I don't think SCC is helping as a lead in, nor is the Friday night timeslot. That is evident by the fact that Dollhouse is consistently one of the most watched shows on DVR. Hopefully the show keeps getting better and can have a nice sendoff if its not picked up.

FYI, Amy Acker is Dr. Sanders.

That was a good episode last night.

The "awakening" was brilliantly conceived and well-executed.

I agree about the doc, DF13; hers remains one of the most interesting, unexplored sub-plots.

I do hope this does get picked up for a second season. With Whedon now helming it, it is one of the most intriguing programs on.

    And Mellie/November...rrrrraarrrrr!

Its gotten a lot better from the first few episodes. I haven't heard anything official about whether Fox will renew it or not. But I have heard that it will depend on these last few episodes of the season. So try to get people to watch if you like it.
