I don't think its disrespect Marty, I just think its a different view of the position. Yes, Ronnie Brown is very talented but I'd trade him if the management wanted a specific player. Running Backs can be had in the mid-round and be productive players. Brown hasn't exactly lit the league on fire since being drafted number two overall. I know people are going to get me on this but the guy has been injured every year but one. He's very talented but injured 'backs just don't do it for me. I'd take a kid in the middle of the draft like Glenn Coffee or James Davis and let him run behind this offensive line that they have heavily invested in. As a matter of fact, color me surprised if Ronnie Brown signs a long-term extension if we have a cap after this upcoming season.

Same here. :pity: Of course with no-one to throw to him he wouldn't be a huge factor.

Boldin makes even the sub-par QB look pretty good (see: McCown). But yeah, far less scary on the Jets than he would be with NE or Buffalo.

How about a three way trade. We get Boldin, NY Giants get Ginn and a low round pick (they want speed), Ariz gets 2 picks from NYG.

I love being a GM on the computer.

The Ravens have less than a million in cap space. how will they pay Boldin? If the Jets get him, i'll throw up!

I'd be surprised if they moved Boldin. Actually, I'd be surprised if any of the top WR's on the market are moved. I heard John Clayton I think it was saying the Cardinals want a deal similar to the deal that Detroit got for Roy Williams. Unless your name is Jerry Jones, I dont' think your going to see that type of deal again.

And since Spielman already gave up his 1st round mega deal for Jared Allen, I dont think there are any GM's on the market willing to do that type of deal.

I read the asking price was a 1st and a 3rd though for Boldin..... and probably the same for Edwards.

On a side note, its funny how OchoCinco was worth 2 1st rounders last year to the Redskins and not even a 3rd rounder this year. Cincy blew it by not taking that offer last year.

    Update per Roto:

Wonder if we're the "one team" that is reportedly "all over" Boldin now? And, I wonder if we could get him for Cobbs and our second 2nd round pick?

They want a 2nd rounder and a player, they aren't going to accept Charlie Anderson, they're going to want a player who is going to contribute.

You know what I mean bro, they're going to want a player like Merling, Langford, Henne, etc. They aren't going to accept role players, they'll want youth and upside in return.

It would cost us big time. Who's salary gets wiped off the books to make room for Bolden? I would still prefer to build through the draft and groom a young WR, QB and LT that will be the core of our offense for years to come. JMO.

Blocking punts <<< Merling, Langford or Henne. :wink2:

I would love to ship out a marginal player for Boldin, but there isn't enough lube in the world to make the Cards bend over for that one.

    I agree 100%

I'm pretty sure we're not gonna give them the equivelent of 2 2nds when their only asking for one. Nduke or Camarillo would be quality players that I think both teams would at least consider including in the deal.

i like the 2nd and cobbs idea someone threw out there. They need RB help, right? Though cobbs has been incredibly valuable to us.

They dropped their demands for a #1 and figured they would make it up with a young player on the rise.

I would make that deal if I felt that we really needed a true #1, I don't think Arizona would go for it though.

i was under the impression that they are asking for less, not just changing what they were asking for. if that makes sense.

We have more pressing needs IMO. Boldin is a great player and I'd love to have him, but we need to fix our defense, add more passrushers and find someone to cover the great WR's in our division. :wink2:

Well they still want to get the most for him. They went from asking for a 1st and a 3rd to now asking for a 2nd and a player. One can only assume that they want to get the best possible player that they can for lowering their draft pick demands, they aren't just going to give him away. :wink2:

it all depends what they want more....90 recs and 10 tds, or a 2nd round pick and a solid but not great player in return. those are their options.

I'm sure the Jets, Ravens, Eagles or Giants will be more than willing to part with a 2nd and a player that is better than that.

A 2nd and a 3rd down RB/ST player (Cobbs) or a RB who is slowing down and 1 slipup from permanent NFL retirement (Ricky)?

Good trade for us, the Cards get shafted.

London has more value to us than he does any other team, he's not a good trade chip. Arizona is going to want a player who is a difference maker, someone who is young and can step in from day 1 and contribute. I don't think they would want our backups. JMO :wink2:

The Ravens have less than a mill in cap room. Whatever player they include will likely come with a hefty price tag. I'm throwing them out of the discussion for cap reasons.

The Jets could send 2nd and ?..... Pace? Leonard? dare I say Gholston? We're talking about a team that threw a franchise QB in the trash and paid a 3rd for a guy with one year left and no loyalty to anyone but himself. I could see them giving up on Gholston after one year, especially with their draft history. If the Jets get him, I'll be pissed. I could also see the Jets as players for Jason Campbell if things go in that direction in Washington.

Eagles can surely afford it. Who do they give up? Sheldon Brown would be ideal, but Arizona is doing good at corner. I doubt Philly is gonna give up an offensive lineman after just completing a deal to secure that area as a strength. So who do they move? Westbrook for Boldin straight up? I could see it.

The Giants can offer up a decent pass rusher with Osi coming back this year. I could see them being the serious contender. Especially after being so interested in Braylon. Boldin would fit the mold of physicality that the Giants are known for. Eli's job would instantly become 1/2 as difficult.

So against that competition, what do we give? How about #56, and either Nduke, Roth, or Cobbs. Maybe two of those players.

If all they want is a 2nd, and they dont want one of our key players that isn't expendable. Then there is no reason why we shouldn't jump on this. We can use our 1st round pick on other needs ( LB, CB ), and we'd get a WR that is anyone that we could have gotten with #25.
