The Official What was the last movie you saw??

Saw State of Play. Loved it. Thought they messed something up in the end, but still very entertaining imo.

 

Finally watched The Usual Suspects last night.

Really good movie. A few things I found a little rushed/unnecessary, but still really good.

 

Saw "Doubt." Fantastic movie for those who like Acting with a capital "A." It's also a film you'll be talking about with whoever you see it with long after it ends.

 

Street Kings - Good movie, very entertaining and full of action.

Dark Floors - Weird horror flick you never heard about. The storyline was nifty, the effects were cheesy and the acting was slightly below to average.

 

I wouldn't expect there to be a plot in any Jason Statham movie seeing as he pretty much reprises the same exact role in every film he's in.

 

I watched it with my kids last night, and I didn't think it was that bad. Yeh it wasn't that different from any of his others, but it had its good moments.

 

Except for Snatch.

 

I love Snatch!

Deadpool gets put into a Weapon X-like program. They intend on giving him the powers of every mutant. Cyclops' eyes, Wrathe's transporting, etc. So they basically try to make him one big supermutant. They rush the process bc they need him to fight Wolverine. He comes out all ****ed up with scars on his chest, bald, and his mouth is sewn shut. He's got swords fused to his hands (kind of a Wolverine thing). Wolverine cuts his head off at the end.

I was not happy, to say the least.

They should of just brought out Omega Red or something if they wanted a big time villian for Wolverine.

His swords weren't exactly fused to his hands, they came out of his hands like Wolvie's claws...

He came off looking like a cheap Baraka rip-off with no mouth...



I was stoked when I first saw him in the movie, then I was a little disappointed when I realized that he wasn't going to be in the rest of the movie. Then I was pissed when he actually was...

 

Whatever you wana call it, it was a bad idea.

I dunno why they didn't choose from all the other Wolverine villians available instead of screwing up a good character.

 

See movies like that aren't showcased to have a plot. Sometimes people just want to go to the movies and see something that you really don't have to think about. You watch and enjoy and move on. No intense discussion, no sense of bewilderment. It's great!

And for those of you who argue that Jason Statham movies never have much of a plot... well, at least he isn't Vin Diesel. Ugh.

 

No doubt... They absolutely got the perfect actor to play Deadpool... Then they blew it.

Hardcore.

Maybe they wanted to totally quash all the rumors of a Deadpool movie?

 

yeah thats pretty bad doode. Which is stupid, deadpool, his attitude, and his character complexity, I think would have made for a great movie.

 

That's pretty much right on...

 

And they honestly picked a great character to play him. The thing about Hollywood that drives me nuts is they feel that all movies have to have finalities when it comes to the characters.

 

Between Venom and Deadpool,

I think their just trying to alienate their fanbases.

Saw 'Blindness' over the weekend. It was '28 Days Later' meets 'Children of Men' meets the Helen Keller Story.

Really dark and disturbing at times, but very well shot and directed.

 

Words cannot express how much I hated that movie.

 

Last night we caught Walking Tall with The Rock. Meh. We also watched a weird independent horror movie called Frontier(s) which was French, subtitled in English. It was the Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Hostel. Not bad, gory as hell and creepier than ****.

 

Blasphemy!! Anything with the Rock in it is golden! Except that badland tales thing...ick. The irony behind him playing that role is Buford Pusser was a known racist.

 

So I suppose you're going to see the next showing of the Escape to Witch Mountain remake, if the Rock is, as you say, "golden".
