This is always one of my favorite days in the NFL! As most of you know, the NFL schedule gets released today. A lot of times other teams will post their schedules earlier and thus we can start piecing together our 2009 schedule. So, you can put any updates or news in here, then we can discuss it!
I hear ya', but I don't think we're going to like this day at all. I believe we have the hardest schedule or what's projected to be the hardest schedule. It's brutal, but I welcome the challenge. I guess, you got to be able to swim with the big boys, so to speak, if you want to be a championship caliber team.
Mentioned on NFL.com, Scott, we have the toughest schedule. They mentioned the Saints, Colts and Texans on the road. Edit: I meant NFL Network.
Are we even going to see schedule leaks throughout the day like we have in previous years? I know the NFL seems to be making a bigger deal about the schedule release this year and the NFL Network is carrying a show dedicated to the release of the NFL schedule tonight. But if the schedule has already been leaked prior to that show, it would certainly take the luster off for any potential viewers. I have a bad feeling we're not going to see anything until tonight, similar to the NCAA Men's Basketball Selection Show.
This is a great day. Miami plays road games @Atl, Jax, and Car, where I will be attending all three. Now I can finally plan my schedule.
You know you're addicted to the NFL when you are excited about the schedule release and personally I will be watching the 7pm NFL Network show and hoping for a Fins game in Nashville this year.
We play the Saints on the road...but only in the pre-season. For reference, here are the teams we play. The dates are released today: Miami Home: Buffalo, New England, NY Jets, Houston, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Tampa Bay Away: Buffalo, New England, NY Jets, Jacksonville, Tennessee, San Diego, Atlanta, Carolina
I dont get it. From everything I have read, everybody is assuming we open at ATL? Why? Because Marlins play at home?
May I ask how everyone knows the home and away games already? If its already been released what is the big whoop about tonight, the times and prime time games? Also according to Gardenhead's schedule that is just brutal. If the Fins even got to 8-8 this year I would be extremely excited. The good thing is the other AFC East teams will have to play a similar schedule which should hopefully keep the Fins in the division race.
1. 14 of the 16 home and away games are pre-determined years in advance. Do a google search and you can find out who we play in 2014. 2. Yes, the hoopla is about the actual dates and times the games are played.
I'm interested to see how many prime time games we get this year. I'd love for us to play on the opening night ... it would be a nice accomplishment.
If I'm not mistaken, that's already been determined. And, we are not one of the teams opening up the season on prime time. I believe it's Tennessee at Pittsburgh on that first Thursday night game. Followed by Chicago at GB on SNF. And, then two MNF games; Buffalo at NE, and SD at Oakland.
Well that's somewhat disappointing then. I'm still hoping we get a couple prime-time games during the course of the season. Honestly, I'd love to see us open up against someone from the AFC East, whether that's NE, NY, or Buffalo.
I always love to see who we open against, what prime time games we have, who we play at the end of the year, and when we play the Jets. Also, since my brother is a huge Steelers fan, I can't wait to see when we play them.
Really? I'd prefer not to open up against a division opponent because teams are usually a little rusty/getting their feet wet in the first week.
Did the NFL renew it's scheduling format? As I recall, the current format runs out at the end of this season. It was a 8 season format starting in 2002-2009. Just asking??
Not officially, but they have hinted it will continue to go this way unless we get a longer season (17 or 18 games)
Yeah - true - what was it last year, like Week 4? Sheesh, you wait all offseason for Dolphins football and then you get an early bye. I hate that.
I don't remember why, but I think it was B.Sebo that posted something that seemed rather convincing it would be in Atlanta. I could be wrong, though.
You guys. Not that this is a bad thing but we are all NFL crazy. Something actually pertaining to the NFL and not just speculation or mock drafts and this place lit up like a christmas tree and was like a kid coming downstairs to see it..
I've been very anxiously awaiting this schedule. Live in NY, but go to a game down in Dolphin Stadium every year. Getting married in Orlando on the 23rd of October, and really hope the Dolphins play at home on the 18th so I can see a game this year. With the wedding, probably can't afford 2 trips to Florida this fall. Keeping my fingers crossed that week 6 is in Miami or at least Jacksonville.
I'm not sure I buy the logic that rules out the jets. I think having us open @ jets would be ideal. How great would it be for us to open the season at jets, and have Penny and company ruin Rex Ryan's debut?!?!
We all need help. I just messed around on the Dolphins website to see if their webmaster accidentially put the schedule up. I found last year's schedule and added "2009" to the url in various places. I need help.
I just want to know when the Tennessee game is. It's going to be my first ever Fins game and I need to start planning what I need to do.
