Longtime Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas has died at age 73. I mean this with all due respect. "Outta here!" It was his tag line and the way he went out, at the ballpark doing what he loved!
I actually heard him on NFL Films before I heard any of his baseball work. Such a distinctive voice ... one of my all-time faves. He will definitely be missed.
was most familiar with his voice from NFL films, too... though not a Phillies fan, i enjoyed hearing the joy in his voice calling the World Series last year when the Phillies won.
