that is terrible, sad news. i believe i also heard that two others in the car with him died and another is in critical condition. by a hit and run driver with a previous DUI and liscence suspension on his record. who also hurt someone in his own vehicle and left the scene. but of course, the scumbag responsible for it all is just fine.
Very sad news. Adenhart was a rising star and for a dirtbag to take it away just like that is just a shame. A very sad day for Angels fans. RIP
so, are all the games just getting pushed back? m's are supposed to start a series with oakland tomorrow..now it will start on saturday?
Wow. So sad. This made a horrible day even worse. I will speak for Dodger fans everywhere when I say RIP Nick, and I will be rooting for the Angels in the American League this year I think. I am at a loss for words.
R.I.P. Mr. Nick Adenhart This shocked me this afternoon when I saw the news. I was thinking of picking him up on my fantasy team because I saw how well he pitched last night.
RIP He had such a bright future and then some jackass decides to drink and drive and ends his life. They need to make penalties for DUI more severe. I hope the guy who did this goes to jail a long time.
FSW is replaying Adenhart's start from last night, atm. Pretty sad to watch. Here he is during his best night as a pro, probably one of the top moments of his young life, and a few hours later he's gone.
Instead of paying a few bucks for a taxi three people are dead. People that drink and drive make me incredibly angry. The piece of **** who did all this is getting charged with manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and hit-and-run. No pleas...take it to the limit regardless of cost to the taxpayer and bury the piece of **** for as long as you can.
Good. Fits the crime perfectly. I am at a loss for words. Not a baseball fan, but what a tragedy. Looking back at Don Shula's posts from before, it is kind of eerie talking about him and then right after his great game he dies. My prayers are with his family.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_y...lug=ap-angels-pitcherkilled&prov=ap&type=lgns If he's convicted....we won't be seeing him for a while.
If we could only hit with the bases loaded... Seems like twice a game we load the bases and come away with nothing.
well jak is making his first career start. i see angels taking the game...why angel fans so quiet? its not like they arent going to pick it up
I havent been around much lol. Dont worry, I'll be around to laugh at you when you come back to earth. You guys are looking pretty good, though. If you're top 3 pitchers can keep this up you'll have more staying power than I would have given you credit for early on.
Felix, Bedard, and Washburn will be fine I think....Silva can mix in a decent game now and then, but the offense is what worries me, timely hitting is rarely consistent.
i think washburn will have a better year due to the outfield defense. washburn is a fly ball pitcher, and our defense is probably the best in the league in the outfield...i love the way don coaches, he reminds me of scoisca(sp?) the way he plays small ball...
I think we're cursed. Add Vlad to the list of the Angels who are on the DL. Gone at least a month. These injuries sure have drained the excitement out of the start of a new season lol. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_y...YcB?slug=ap-angels-guerrero&prov=ap&type=lgns
Lackey threw off a mound and didnt feel great but is going to pitch with pain, which scares me lol. I'm not sure about Santana; part of me is afraid he's going to come back and need Tommy John in a month.
Moseley to the DL. So 4 SP's on the DL, and one killed... No team can stay competitive with a staff that depleted. Add in Vlad, and the bullpen issues and we might be buried quick if we dont get some people back soon.
This is like a manager's nightmare. If Weaver finds himself on DL, Scioscia may decide to just be a full-time TV salesman.
Yeah this has been a pretty tough run by the Angels. And really the only thing that I remember that can maybe compare to them is the 2006 Red Sox who lost Ortiz, Manny, Schilling, Varitek, Coco Crisp, Alex Gonzalez, Trot Nixon, Wakefield, David Wells, Wily Mo Pena, Keith Foulke, Papelbon and Lester to cancer all in the span of 2 months. It was unreal how so many guys went down so quickly. If the Angels can somehow stay around .500 until they get their pitchers back they should be fine. I really don't think any of those AL West teams are going to run away with the division so they should be within striking distance. Personally I think they need some more fire power in the line up and would probably call up Wood and let him see what he could do with at bats everyday. There should be tons of guys available at the trade deadline this year so they could get help there as well. I also wonder if the Angels will call up Pedro Martinez and see if he'd like to live in LA for a few months.
