This is just a question to help a friend out(ok, its for me)...Like a focus group. If you had a place to go game with friends 4 on 4 in organized leagues/tournaments(or by yourself against other people in the room) In games like Madden, COD, and Gears, would you go to a place like that? I'm talking each player gets their own tv sitting across the team they are playing.
I would go to that for sure! That sounds awesome but i only have a few friends who are serious gamers. I would not wanna go and have some fing 15 yr old kid talking smack.
yea groups could bring their computers (or gaming systems would be there already) and hook them up to the the tvs...like buy the room out for the day and have soda and snacks available via vending machines right in the room.
I had a buddy that ran a gaming store in WPB back in the 90s. Bunch of kids playing D & D, Magic: The Gathering, Mechwarrior and the like. He entertained the thought of doing what you're proposing, but didn't have the liquid cash to make it real.
places like this do exist...they also have like net cafe's i have played wow with people that play from net cafe's regularly (weird) i think it would not only be a great idea, but it would be a fun business to operate most likely...
Yea, we dont have places like that around here Everyone Ive talked to so far has said "yea, thats a good idea, I bet people would do that".
Yup, I have been to one in a super small Ohio town. The place had like a membership, or you could pay by the hour to use their internet (T1's or T3 connections, I can't recall), but they doubled as a used game store, so that had all sorts of systems and games to choose from. I played in a Halo 2 tourney there with 3 of my friends, sadly we got 2nd. But if a place like that existed here, I would probably go in. It'd be fun, and hopefully I could meet some friends that way.
We had a place like that open here for a while. It never really seemed to take off though however it was being run by a couple of kids too who I think were in over their heads trying to run a business. In addition to offering a place to play against each other, they also had consoles set up(modded of course, with HD's filled with games) that they "rented" out an hour per time, as well as offering repair, and modding services as well. I don't think is open anymore, it didn't seem to do to well, but like i said i think it was more of a place for them and their friends to hang out, as opposed to trying to run a sucessful business. Its a cool idea though, but with the internet, and xbox live and the psn, is there really a demand for it? Maybe you could take it one step further too, and offer drinks, and food as well to make it more of an attractive option.
+1. they have hair cutters and waitresses that do this sort of stuff i'm sure they make a killing in tips games, drinks, food and naked women. what more do you need to have a successful business?
