Considering Mathews didn't come on till late, I can see juicing being a contributor for his success. You can also see the water retention in Cushing, and his style of play go hand in hand with his herculian strength. I personally would not want to draft either one in the 1st now unless I had a few more months to re-evaluate them after testosterone levels come down and their bodies/strength/measurables/athleticism return to non-roid form. Unfortunately, time is not a luxury we have right now. Posted via Mobile Device
Not to single out one program because they all likely have some dirt on their hands but how much can USC endure with all this before some sort of action is taken? And please dont tell me they just started after they declared.
That photo has him looking like a punk! I wouldn't touch him in the first 3 rounds now. Posted via Mobile Device
Hes been juicing for a while. He already has "***** ****" going on in the first pic. The second pick is a result of hardcore juicing! He's got 50 pounds of roid muscle on him...give or take a pound.....that comes from stacking like 1000mg Testosterone with 500mg of Deca, and possibly even some Dbol or Anadrol. Southern Cal....not too far from Mexico LOL
You think with all the crap publicity roids' get and how they destroy athletes careers these idiots wouldn't touch the stuff, too much risk for the reward. I get why baseball players did it, MLB didn't have a banned substance list. But playing for a big time college school and then the nfl, you really think that was a smart decision? idiots. I hope no one drafts them (even though that won't happen). Scratch that, i hope the pats, jets and bills draft them
You answered your own question. Someone will draft them and they'll be drafted higher then they would otherwise. Cushing was obvious. The guy looks disgusting...
While I wouldn't draft them, at least in the first round (maybe 2), I'm not sure it may not have worked in their favor. For example,Matthews before last season was an UDFA or at best a late round guy. Then he 'roids (and works hard). Now he's a possible first round pick. Most don't get caught but he did so he probably drops to the 2nd round. In the end he certainly improved his draft stock. And if he isn't worried about future health problems as most young people aren't then it paid off for him and he'd probably do it all over again.
Or if you're determined to juice, at least don't do it soooo hardcore that you make it noticeable to the world. (not that I'm advocating it). Thing that sucks about all of this is....they just moved the other OLB's up in the draft making it harder for us to get Barwin at 25.
This is true. I wonder if daddy and his experience in the NFL had anything to do with this? He had to have some kind of clue as to why Clay was getting bigger, faster, stronger, and playing better.
Daddy did play with Lyle Alzado for 3 years in Cleveland. That's when roids really took off...and I think this was before the big time designer roids started entering the equation when players juiced w/o looking as obvious as they do now.
Do you guys think teams just in the past few days received the results of the combine drug tests? IMO, they received them by the 1st week in March. I can think of no reason why they wouldn't. If there was anything in the results that would cause them not to draft Matthews or Cushing, then why bring them to Davie for private workouts?
I would think your right about it being a lot earlier than the public gets it...my guess is to see if they drop should we take them at the 2a/b picks..If thats the case.
dang, and i missed Colin Cowherd today, USC's number one media jock sniffer. would've loved to hear him explain this away.
I listened to most of his show and he never even talked about it. However I am not going to jump to any conclusions until we get hard facts on what they too or until they test positive in the NFL. One guy did test positive cause he drank too much water one year.
I would wonder if this goes to the Character type of person that Parcells, Ireland and Sparano want in players. I think it will affect their draft status as far as dropping them down into the second round, but that is when I believe that teams will start taking a flier on them.
NFL and Pete Carroll have stated that the rumor is untrue. That the only people who have received the test results are the independent medical examiners and those students who tested positive. none of the teams or even the league itself have those results. Sounds to me like some team later in the draft wants a linebacker. Hell it could even be us doing it. We got Marino cause someone spread a rumor about him having a coke habit.
IMO, the photo on the left was probably taken sometime after he dislocated his shoulder in 2005. Obviously, you can't do any upper body weight lifting until sufficiently recovered from the shoulder surgery. In that pic, it looks like his upper body has atrophied from going a few months not being able to lift. As for him displaying evidence of gyno, I don't see that at all. I see atrophied pectorals from extended inactivity recovering from surgery. Even if he was using steroids, very few of the popular ones in use any more have a possible side effect of gyno. And if he was using Dianabol which has gyno as a possible side effect, he'd certainly be taking Nolvadex or another anti estrogen along with it.
IMO, what you are stating here is a gross over exaggeration. I've known serious weight lifters who have guns like that, and who got that way with no steroids. A lot of the legal supplements these days are very effective, when combined with good genetics, serious weight training and proper nutrition, they can produce results like that. In the right side pic he is pumped and flexing. Heck, at my best, my upper arms weren't too far from that, and it was with taking no controlled substances. He ran at the USC pro day shirtless, and while he has a darned good physique, both of them do, but I know it is possible to have a physique like that naturally. Bodybuilders who compete in the all natural competitions are far more developed than either of them.
Imo and I've seen a lot of users Cushing doesn't look like a heavy user to me...he doesn't even look like he is "on" in that pic..and those doses mentioned would have been overkill 10 years ago...even moreso now.
Here is another blog about it.....interesting read. http://flashwarner.com/2006/07/what_happened_to_brian_cushing.html
Being somewhat knowledgable of steriods the picture on the left is almost certainly a case of gyno (*********) fpr lack of a better word. Many steriods have a high amount of estrogen in them and when you dont take some sort of post cycle therapy, you start to have a chest like Cameron Diaz. Looks to me like Cushing didnt do his homework before cycling.
I agree Clean it is possible but that is way too drastic of a change so quickly, the thing with football players is they destroy so much muscle tissue during camp and the season that it is very hard to keep your gains that well. Im not down on these guys becuase like I said before Im sure there are hudreds of players in major programs and the NFL who are on some sort of steriod.
He could have gotten gyno the very first cycle people react differently...bacne gyno testicular shrinkage all happen to people differently some knuckleheads can overdose on them and have no visable gyno/bacne whatsoever.
I agree... many people can get guns like that... but it usually takes years to do so, and not just a 21-22 year old young man who doesn't have the ability to concentrate solely on body building due to playing football and the counterproductive effects that football would have on gaining weight. Good point about the body bulders who are natural. They are also much lighter in weight and show no signs of water retention, hence their great definition. Like you said, Cushing shows no real definition.... but rather he shows a great deal of water mass and puffiness which is usually from Test. LOL.
If Cusing doesn't loook "on" in that pick, then what does "on" really look like? LOL. These are actually normal dosages for users looking to gain a great deal of strength and size. Body builders will even double that amount. If you want mild gains, it can be dropped off to 300mg test/ 200 mg Deca. Any lower, and the person is wasting their money and wont get much results. After your 1st cycle, the 300 mg of test will have to be increased if you want the results to increase.
I wont believe it until i see proof of it, ive seen to many people way more shredded then him that do it naturally, he kinda looks like he might of been a little overweight as a kid, There are stories of how serious this kid has takin his weight training since senior year in high school, more professional then most nfl players. His boobies do scare me though. i hope it aint true cause i love him as a football player.
This was interesting reading. The posts from 2006 and referring to the same pic we see posted here. There are posters who claim first hand knowledge taking both sides of the issue. Some extreme and some not so much, either way. A lot of the comments say the same thing that I was merely presuming, and that is the pic taken of him in the long sleeve red shirt was after he had not been able to lift for a while, after his shoulder injury/surgery.
Those are idiot doses a dealer tells you you need..Im not going to get into cycles stacking staggering et al but whoever told you those numbers is giving VERY bad advice.
As for what a guys usually look like in an active cycle take a look Gholstons pre combine pics or some old tony mandarich stuff....what cushing looks like in that second picture could easily ba a creatine cycle.
ToddPhins, this is what someone "on" looks like...... Steven Christman.... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jmglc9_klA"]YouTube - Bodybuilder Steven Christman posing[/ame]
Hmmmm, now you got me wondering.....I did one cycle or rather, a part of a cycle, in 2002. I was taking 500cc of Enanthate a week, two 250cc shots one on Monday, the 2nd on Thursday (it was supposed to finished with clomid). I was 42 at the time, and had only been lifting since I was 38. Was this too much for someone of my age ? The reason I stopped in mid-cycle was because I started with a lot of acne, and inside I felt like I was 15 again with all of those up and down emotions. It also incited my panic disorder to high levels. Sorry if this gets off-topic but if someone can answer me I'd like to hear.
