I'm hoping for Detroit. Then Denver can draft Stafford or trade for one of the Browns QB's.

I'm not a big Cutler fan. I believe his game lacks maturity and that he lacks leadership ability. He has great talent and if he develops the leadership and maturity he can be great. Right now, though I think he's a good QB. I know he has the Pro Bowl moniker but I really don't think he deserved it. I thought there were 5 or 6 QBs in the AFC who were more deserving including Pennington. So no, I can't picture him in a Dolphin uniform.

That being said I would rather he not go to the Jets. He clearly makes them better right now. And since he's only 25 he could eventually become a great QB. I hope he ends up in Detroit.

Oh, please. No one knows who's "in the lead" and who's "out of it" when it comes to trading for Cutler.

What kind of ammo do the jets really have to trade for a Pro Bowl, Top-5 QB who has yet to hit his stride? Denver is gonna want an impact first round pick, and the jets don't have that. The jets pick 17th in this years draft. That pick does not have much value. And if you think Denver is gonna trade Jay Cutler to the jets for the #17 pick plus Leon Washington or Vernon Gholston or some other jet scrub, you're nuts.

He may end up a jet, but I don't believe the jets have the ammo to get a deal done.

just the thought of it scares me, he can't throw a touch pass and the guy is in Love with himself. its not the money nor wins that motivates this gut, its bowing down to this guy.

I doubt we're even interested. We have Henne for the future.

As far as other teams go. I could see anyone of those teams landing him. It will all depend on who gives up the most, and I really hope it's not the Jets, because I like Cutler and would have to hate him if that were the case.

No, but your fanbase does constantly remind eachother of the correct spelling of the team name througout the game, just in case somebody forgets how to spell Jets...

One thing some of you are overlooking - even though Detroit has the #1 pick, whoever takes it will be shelling out at least $20 Million guaranteed (maybe more).

Denver might not want the #1 and may look to get a couple mid-to late 1st's or players.

Either way, Cutler is a butt-hurt crybaby and his agent makes Scott Boras look like Murray from Flight of the Concords.

The bigger thing is, Denver doesn't really have very much leverage. Everyone knows they have to get rid of him. The only thing they can hope for, is a bidding war, which I'm not convinced will happen.

I'm pretty sure a bidding war will develop.

How often does a Pro Bowl QB (who is still in his rookie contract) become available on the trade market? I can't remember the last time it has happened. Cutler is arguably the best young QB in the league.

Word is Denver would prefer to deal Cutler to an NFC team, which once again puts the focus on Detroit as the likely landing spot for him. Cleveland is rumored to be involved too, as a third party. This per Rotoworld:

    Brady Quinn-QB-Browns Apr. 1 - 2:13 pm et

ESPN's John Clayton says there's a "decent chance" that Brady Quinn will be a Bronco once the Jay Cutler situation is resolved. "I'd have to think things start to broker through Cleveland, possibly involving the Detroit Lions," Clayton said. The Broncos are reportedly hoping to deal Cutler to an NFC team. A Detroit-Cleveland-Denver three-way deal makes plenty of sense, with the Lions getting Cutler and Browns getting picks.

    Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer

If this is true, I think the chances of him ending up with the Jets (or Bills for that matter) are greatly reduced. :praying:

Sorry but I still think Detroit is the front runner for Cutlers services. He is a good and proven QB and would give them a starting quarterback without a rookies learning curve. Denver in return would get the best QB in this years draft, one McDaniels can mold to his own liking. Whoever gets him will have to pay a lot to get him and Denver knows that and is counting on it. No matter who they make the trade with, Denver will have to come out of the deal with some sort of quarterback to fill a huge hole Denver suddenly has.

I just don't want cutler in the afc east unless he's a dolphin which will never happen. not to mention us not having the money to pay him. plus, qb isn't a need right now. our 1st round pick would be better spent on a cb.

Actually, i believe DET would gladly give up the #1 for Cutler, but doubt DEN wants it ... they have 2 X #1s plus the #33 -- so they have plenty to work with and keep #1 to sign a LT and come out winners.

Don't really want to see him with the JESTS .... but if that's the way it goes, so be it.

Cutler was my pick in that draft, and Henne was it in his ... taking Cutler would cost this team a lot, Pennington (as he wouldn't stay and be a back up), Henne, and probably 2 X day 1 draft picks ...

You can easily argue the merits of taking a known quantity in Cutler - that you could reasonably know that he'd be around for up to another decade over the unkown in Henne. The catch for us right now is that we have Pennington (even with his limitations) to cover the gap.

Lastly, if you could get away with a crazy deal like Henne and another 2nd or 3rd round pick for Cutler ... then i would say you be compelled to pull the trigger -- but all else ... stick with what we have.

IMO, as it stands now, the #1 selection in the NFL draft is more of a curse than a blessing. That's why successful GMs like Pioli often trade down because the talent at the bottom of round 1 isn't as significantly removed from the top as is the price tag. Jason Allen may be a bust but he certainly didn't bust up our salary cap.

As McDaniels or Xanders, I'd be intrigued by both Pennington and Henne. Pennington could make them competitors today and Henne might make them competitors tomorrow. IMO, if Denver is interested in either or, then it's not as a dismissible situation as most of you have made it out to be and as always, this *****/baby-cry/so on and so forth argument is ridiculous.

Before a young, rookie, (and IMO opinion) buffoon personnel handler of a head coach got to Denver none of you had ever heard a single complaint about the franchise QB- which former finheaven fans shouldn't forget as we were all under the assumption that a fall to 16 was immanent, welcomed, and very much exciting. On the contrary and utter opposite brink end of the spectrum, the man was quite commendable for excelling even while weakened by diabetes. When Joe Public has his way...

Anyways, if (and thats a very considerable if) the Denver brass would consider Pennington or Henne and the 25th overall alone for Cutler, then that is IMO a very interesting deal that deserves a plethora amount of thought. If an organization can go out and secure a proven 25 year old franchise QB whilst keeping either a blue-chip rookie or veteran, mentor/back-up on it's roster without breaking it's bank or draft, then every angle should and must be discussed.

As the Dolphin's GM, I'd consider the opportunity until I'm blue in the face but I wouldn't take it if indeed Chad Henne has been as impressive as word around the camp fire has made him out to seem.

As for Pennington, I can't believe I'd ever learn to love a Jet as much as I have loved that man this passed season but I think Sporano's comments at the coaches meeting makes it more than evident that he is not the future of the franchise and we may even see it as early as this upcoming season.

There's a chance Sanchez could be a bust (given his college I like the odds of it lol), not much of a chance of Cutler regressing into one. So let them waste a draft pick and we can cross our fingers that it doesnt work out.

Doesnt matter though, Sanchez will be gone by the time they pick.

No, but i can picture him in a Bears uniform since they just paid 2 1st round picks and a 3rd and Kyle Orton! I guess we can put this thread to rest! I'm glad he didn't go to one of our rivals.
