Pagan, you and me both know that if Phil aint in the band, it aint Thin Lizzy. Yes, technically, there is a band called Thin Lizzy that still records and tours, but that don't mean they are Thin Lizzy.

Conversely, Like2god, the other members of White Zombie were more than just Rob Zombie's backing band. J. Yeunger was integral to that band's success.

I knew they were touring, I went and saw them last year. Megadeth opened up for them, and it RULED! :hi5:

I didn't know they were making a new album, though. I hope it's better than Dehumanizer...

When was the last time you listened to Dirty Work? When was the last time you listened to Dirty Work and thought, "damn, this is a killer album!"?

Agree totally on Alice in Chains.

As to Jimi, Janis, and Nirvana, I think they (and others like them) needed to end early (I don't mean die). I just don't think they would have been able to maintain their edgines, relavance, etc. It would have been interesting to see their careers longer, but I'm not sure they would have continued success at the rate. I think their premature deaths added to the mystique that they had...

I think Jimi today would be a trainwreck, but musically, I could see him starting to turn back towards his blues roots. He would be a kingpin in that genre, much like B.B. King imo.

Janis probably would have ventured into country and grabbed hold of the more mellow 70's era.

As for Nirvana, I don't think they would have stayed together had Cobain still been alive. Grohl would have ended up leaving for greener pastures, Cobain was rumored to be wanting to leave the music industry to focus more on poetry and artwork. I can't imagine that Nirvana would still be around today in anyway shape or form. If Cobain stayed in music, I see him going down the acoustic type approach of music, btw.

Sadly, I have to agree with this. Due to his heroin addiction, Cobain was headed down on of two roads - Death or total obscurity. Many people forget that technically the band was "broken up" at the time he killed himself.

True, but their shows are a celebration of Phil's life and talent. It's pretty cool. And Scott's a great guy. No ego whatsoever.

The Ramones are a band I havent seen mentioned yet. One of the first punk/garage rock bands they were the band to see in the early 80's in NYC. Incredibly talented and fin to listen to.

I agree with RATM; De La Rocha might just be the angriest man on earth but it makes for great music. Tom Morello's Harvard degree makes him a career underachiever but his knowledge of history and political science helped fuel De La Rocha's political angst and a ranking as the 26th best guitarist ever (Rolling Stone). Morello is also to thank for the forming of Tool as he had introduced Maynard James Keenan to Danny Carey. Hopefully this reunion thing leads to some new music from them.

Jimi Hendrix...this goes without saying. Who wouldnt want to hear more from one of the best musicians ever?

Soundgarden was awesome; would love to hear more from them.
