Thats cool, my best friend hates golf, but I love to play it. She really hates it when I talk about it, so I try not to bore her with it. It's funny, she's not really into football, but she wanted to go to the Dolphins/Broncos game last year, so I got her a ticket. Even though we have different tastes in sports, she's my best friend.

 

U of Miami baseball 1st, Florida Marlins 2nd, Seattle Mariners 3rd, and a big big big fan of the Arizona D'Backs TV announcing crew, especially Mark Grace the color guy - he has the most interesting stories and is great at telling them, makes watching D'Backs games a blast.

 

More interesting then my stories? I like the O's. I just got a 13 game package this year. I am also going to opening day this year.

 

I tend to shy away from golf too. They do a much better much better job than they used to, but its still pretty boring. I just don't get all of the hullabaloo over Tiger Woods....I mean he's fugly as sin and has a bit of an attitude.

 

I am trying to get into golf. But I just cant seem to get into it. Same with the NHL trying to get into that to.

 

Well I haven't heard too many of your stories just yet, but I can't wait to hear them on the Sick & Seth Show.

The O's are a team on the rise. I think they will play a lot tougher this year and you should have a good time. As a U of Miami fan, of course my favorite Oriole is Aubrey Huff, who I have met a number of times, and actually spent dinner with when he was in school, as he was assigned to our table during the Team Feed at the end of the season. They have one player per table at that event. Aubrey went to the UM from 1997-98. I also like Brian Roberts. he defines hustle and hard play....love players like that.

 

So what? It doesn't have a negative impact on the game. It's not as bad as say....finding a stilborn duckling in a carton of eggs.

no, you should be excommunicated for bad mouthing baseball but following nascar.

 

Golf is a fun game at times, but it also makes me very mad at other times. I can usually shoot in the low 80's, sometimes I can make it to the 70's, but also I can really screw up and shoot in the 90's.

I've been trying to do the NHL, but I just can't sit down to do a whole game. I do like the playoffs a lot better though.

 

wrong. the marlins have been in "dolphins stadium" sense 1993. 16 years. no where else. and when joe robbie built the stadium, he built it with bringing a baseball team there in mind (obviously given the structure)

and now that the same owner doesnt own both teams.....the marlins pay a hefty price to play in that stadium, giving alot of their revenue made, which in turn....is being put into the dolphins as a franchise.

so they have a right to talk about the field being messed up.....which they maybe do very in-frequently. but dolphins mediocre teams in the early 00's got tons of excuses made for them because of the infield. when both teams are playing on it.

 

Joe Robbie wanted to bring soccer to the staduim before baseball, I believe

 

Baseball doesn't suck at all.
I like baseball.
I just hate the squatting Marlins and their stupid infield. I cheer every year when they get eliminated from the playoffs.

 

You have to go to a game I think. That is what one of my friends said.

 

I'll say this, baseball, at a live game, is fairly entertaining. But on TV? I really can't think of a more boring sport to watch.

 

I've been to a few minor league games when I lived in Kansas and they were pretty good. Maybe someday I'll get a ticket to a Avs game

You trying to take me to one. I am also trying to get into Nascar. A lot of people should give it a chance they would like it. It is the fastest growing sport I think.

 

NASCAR is growing, but right now it's tough, just like everything else. The Avs suck right now, so I won't be going anytime soon. I'm going to a MLS game soon, though about it this weekend, but we're getting 15 inches of snow right now. I use to be involved in the MLS, (as an official), but now I'm too old to run my butt off.

Actually Sick, when Joe Robbie built Dolphin Stadium it was with SOCCER in mind as the "2nd" sport in the stadium. Baseball was never even considered, and it was only when Huizenga thought he had a chance of bringing baseball to the stadium, he did a full feasibilty study on retro-fitting Dolphin Satdium for baseball.

Joe Robbie's dream was to have the premiere football/soccer stadium, and envisioned World Cup matches and other international matches for soccer as the backup for football. Remember when the stadium opened the Robbie's had owned the Strikers (part of NASL) from 1977 to the mid-1980's. Thought was that even though the NASL had failed, that another pro soccer league was just on the horizon.

Of course this has never really come to fruition down here, which is very surprising given the diversity of population, especially from those countries where soccer is the # 1 sport by far. Even David Beckham, certainly one of the greatest soccer stars of all time, was unable to create the necessary excitment to really have the sport catch on with the general public, and it remains a marginalized sport with a loyal, but reliativly small following in the US and Canada.

 

No sense in even attempting to convince someone like this Penn, they are set on hating the Marlins no matter what.

 

WH really wanted to host a world cup game in 1994, but for whatever reason, it didn't work out.

It was 1994 and the reason he couldn't was because the Marlins where playing there. FIFA would not accept a stadium with a dirt infield for World Cup games, and there would be no time frame, other than the Marlins staying on the road an unconsciencable month, so that grass could have been planted and taken root to satisfy FIFA.

So the games ended up in the Orange Bowl.

 

I am trying to get in to soccer but there is just not enough excitement.

I couldn't remember what the deal was. But it could be a nice soccer staduim.

 

It's a good sport, but like any other sport, it's not for everyone.

 

I'd rather watch grass grow. Game I have really gotten into the last 3 years is rugby, both league and union rugby. Great game, lots of hard hitting and incredible fans.

 

Its an amazing site for soccer games, its just that not that many have been played there.

 

Yea it is like run up and down the field. Then nothing happens. Then they get close to the goal. Then they miss the goal. Then it is a shoot up. Then it ends in a tie. Man soccer is boring

Favorite is a tie between Dan Uggla and Cody Ross. Both are fun loving guys, living a dream on heart and not as much talent as others. They are classic overachievers and you can tell it by the smile they have every game they play, because they know they are the luckiest guys on God's green Earth, to be playing the game they love for outrageous money.
