Regarding the original topic and subject of said topic: What I recall was that he had his own fan site (yes, it was a Dolphin site, believe it or not!) that went under. AJ bought his website and the purchase agreement involved that membership to FH premium. Like most of you, I've never understood the guy's mindset. As to Celt, FFIC, CNC, these guys have really been the face of the FH for quite sometime. I can't say enough about their influence, either. I was a member of FH way back when, as well as a member of mikeo's site. There was so much trash slinging that it was hard to feel comfortable unless your opinions matched those of the few. If you didn't agree, you were called names; your ancestry was called into question, etc. So I left. Eventually,though I came back and joined again in 04. As I already stated, the above mentioned people, as well as a few others made a huge difference in how that site has been run recently compared to how it was run back before.

there is truth here. It's eventual size watered down the content and it was struggling and then it simply changed after the crash. I am a critic of the loosening of the thread creation rules and felt it was becoming nothing but a polite "main" forum in a lot of cases. It became obvious that vip was not for everyone too, some people are just to confrontational. I feel personally that those with a bunch of usernotes earned in vip shouldn't be allowed to reup but I am just speaking for me. Thanks for hearing my rant.
I know occasionally a tough call may need to be made, and understand that dynamic of showing patience on public forums. What my intent was to instead focus on the constant trolling going on. There is no doubt in my mind that the person discussed earlier here was NO DOLFAN and only around to create problems. I've watched him pull that crap for over 10 years. Those are the types I'd like to see the board leadership deal with once a pattern emerges.

I haven't talked to AJ in years. He never made that promise to me.I paid just like everyone else. VIP and PREMIUM was my idea but I did pay! When I GAVE my site to Finheaven, VIP and PREMIUM didn't even exist at the time.

Im not a Dolphins fan?? Dude, I ran a Dolphins fan-site for like 6 years. I had articles written about me in the Sun-Sentinel by Alex Marvez about my Dolphins fan site and being a "super-fan". I worked on Ricky Williams Foundation with his mother Sandy back before Ricky turned into the person he is now. You dont know what your talking about...... Who do you think brought Brett Tessler to Finheaven! (ME). I also brough Joe Schad to Finheaven, but then he left for ESPN and his stay was very short. Who do you think set up that "Finheaven Party" a few years ago and got Ethan, Tessler, and some other sports writers to show up. Once again....ME! So don't start in with the I ain't a Dolphins fan BS!! Please. You have no idea what your talking about
I understand the need to filter out unwanted posters who abuse the luxury of posting on a fan site but isn't this a slippery slope? Banning some people because we don't agree with what they say? My concern would be who determines what is right and wrong. But I say this more because I didn't know what FH was prior to '04. I joined back then but the main boards were just...awful. I didn't want to be surrounded by all the hate. And it was pure hate. I gave the sight another shot during the Ronnie Brown draft and purchased VIP membership after that. Been a pleasure ever since. I've learned so much about football and the Miami Dolphins since. Football became much more than a sport but an academic exercise; analyzing strategy and statistical data. Now I'm living outside of the USA and lacking a TV, everybody here is my only reprive from the pressure of medical school. I couldn't be more thrilled that this board exists because without it, I likely would be a far superior dork. I mean, I'm already skinny + tall, imagine if all I read were scientific journals! Please make sure that when writing the TOS, consider that while filtering out the negativity is necessary, it's always good to have contrasting opinions. But you all are smart fellas, sure you already figured that out. FWIW
You know, I may not be the right person to say this, but I want to say it anyway. There's a difference between disappointment with a dismal football team and spending years knocking the organization even when they do things right. And then you spent this entire year propping the Patriots up as the greatest team to ever play in the NFL, and tried to go back on that and join in the celebration when the Giants beat them. Furthermore, I can't remember an argument you've made with any kind of realistic supporting detail. Maybe I'm wrong, and you have, but I can't remember one. I find it very hard to believe that you're a fan of this team when you spend more effort bashing them than you do rooting for them to win football games. You didn't like moves the organization made? That's fine: don't go hoping for the organization to fail as a result. Do you think the Chargers fans who wanted Schottenheimer gone in a year the Chargers went 14-2, or the Ravens fans who wanted Billick gone in a year they went 13-3, spent more time those years bashing the coaches than being happy for their teams' successes? Pull it back a little, man.
Im all for it. As a bleeding member of RSN...I am on SoSh dailey during the season. Their quality standards are really high...but it makes a difference. I think moreso in baseball because many of those guys are stat freaks...but if we implemented something vaguely resembling those standars....it couldnt be bad.
How did I spend the "entire year" proping up the Pats when Finheaven website was down for pretty much the entire REGULAR SEASON????????? And the team went 18-1 and broke every major offensive record,,....they deserved some props! Doesn't mean I couldn't give them the respect they deserved but still be happy when they lost!
When the site was up, you were praising them to the point of going overboard. And Celtkin.com was up while FH/DN was down. You didn't give them "some props." You were fellating them on a level that only ESPN and perhaps Peter King has dared to up to this point. Yeah, fine, they were 18-0 going into the Super Bowl. Big deal: look at HOW they won those games, how they conducted themselves on the field, not just the record. How a team wins is just as important as whether or not they win, at least when you're assessing team quality. The Patriots scraped by some bad teams with luck and the help of beneficial calls. No one ever talks about a team was great because the referees gave them questionable calls. (Tuck rule, anyone?)

oh and Im not a fan you say........ I did interview for a job with the Miami Dolphins back in 2003 to work on their website. They flew me down, put me up, and gave me first class treatment. A job in which I turned down because the fulltime job I currently had at the time (and still have) paid me about 8X more than what they could ever pay me! Ever wonder why the ONLY NFL team to have a "web-weekend" and invite owners/staff of fan sites down there and let them walk the field, eat for free, and ask the coaching staff and players questions, and go to a preseason game!!! That started in what 2004, just after I interviewed for the organization! Hmmm, think maybe they were looking over talent and trying to find someone else for the job I turned down!!! Try and keep up people......your all learning a little something tonight! Bash me all ya want, but at least know the facts about me! Maybe that's why the people in charge at the time like AJ, Muck, and others kept me around. They didn't have to let me be a writer. Or come up with ideas like VIP and PREMIUM. They used me as the asset I am to help GROW THE WEBSITE!
Mike... In trying to be objective as possible, and also thinking that with this new web site being a new start for all....I want to welcome you....but with a caveat..(sp?) Everybody appreciates contrasting opinions. Homerism...optomism...negativity all their place in a well run forum. But...you have to agree...you have a reputation for a more negative slant than most. Maybe we could all be more open minded when it comes to your posting. Nobody asks for anyone to wear rose tinted glasses...but nobody wants to read constant grating criticism either. Maybe a little more balance? Im sure you are a fine fin fan...and I agree last season was tough on all....but in all honesty...this goes back way before that. That being said....I hope you stay around and offer some great dialogue when it comes to our favorite team....but....a little bit of optomism once in a while would be greatly welcomed by all. Heres to a new start.....
