I used to drink regular soda all the time and gave it up over a year ago. Although I do have one every now and then. It's amazing how much better you start feeling over time when you stop drinking that stuff, and not just Coke, all sodas.
IDK if its quite as bad as that link makes it sound but its certainly not healthy. I rarely drink soda anymore, I just feel better without it.
I gave up sodas 3 years ago. I still drink one every now and then. And sometimes when I have a headache it helps a lot. I worked with this one woman who drank a 6 pack of coke every day at work in 8 hours. She was probably about 300lbs
I've been off of soda for 3+ months now. And reading that link helps me to understand why I'm craving it in much the same way I imagine crackheads crave crack.
I use to drink 4-5 sodas a day ab out 6 years ago now I limit myself to 1 a day. Couldn't watch the video but can't be worst than Beer.
i was once in her shoes when i was in my early twenties & thirties. The only difference is I was 135 then. I had to cutback cus I didnt want to end up with diabetes. I drank coke like how some ppl drink coffee. I went through depression & withdraws for months after i stopped. sucked bad but was glad i did. I still drink but limit myself 1 or 2 a day.
Instant *******, just add alcohol I think thats true to a certain extent. Some people more than others get really obnoxious when they drink, and I was one of those people. Besides, I love my wife and kids more than any alcohol...Now I just drink water, iced tea, Dr. Pepper, etc... and I, and my family, are much happier now.
When I was a kid all I drank was Coke & Mountain Dew Code Red. Good times. Now if I have one or two sodas a month, its a lot. Soda just sucks once you get older.
link not working for me for some reason. either way, i agree with the sentiments about soda. i drink cherry coke zero on occasion though
cherry coke & orange soda were & still are my favorite. you guys remember Jolt? I use to drink Mt Dew or Jolt to help me stay up playing & farming in EQ (back in 99-00).
Auspicious timing, I got this today. Pfizer Announcement Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of 'cocktails', 'highballs' and just a good old-fashioned 'stiff drink'. Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO. Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them. If you don't send this to five old friends right away there will be five fewer people laughing in the world.
Link isn't working. I drink about 2 to 3 Pepsi's a day though. I've had to cut back a bit though because my mom was complaining about me possibly getting sick from drinking it. She once showed me a piece of meat from the freezer and dropped it into a small cup of Coke. Two hours later, the piece of meat was gone. It disintegrated. She told me keep up at the pace your at now and that's what your insides will look like. Now I'm going to Wendy's to go get a Coke and a Jr. Bacon.
I drink 2-3 Pepsi One's a day. Healthy as an ox and in better shape than I was in my 20's. Go figure!
I probably average 4-5 diet sodas a day. I rarely drink non-diet any more. I cut out soda altogether for a while a few years ago and it wasn't that hard IMO. The last year of school really made me want/need caffeine though, and I just can't stand coffee.
lol Bro she was messing with you. Coke does not do that. Its a myth she probably got this from some email her sister sent or something .
Never developed a soda habit but I have a fierce red wine addiction. Please don't tell me what it does to my body......
Been drinkin' red wine with dinner ever since my grandfather gave it to me when I was like 12 and said it was the Italian way.
Sorry bro, but with all due respect, I personally dont think it had anything to do with the Alcohol..... BTW: I heard some researches talking over radio about 6 months ago in regards to Diet Cola. Says it is easily 10X worse for you than regular, I think it is the Aspertame or whatever they are sweetening it with. I probably drink about a 12 pack of coke.... in 5 or 6 weeks.
I've heard that argument plenty of times before and it's hard for me to believe. I don't drink soda too much anymore but when I do it's diet and I haven't experienced any problems with it. Ever.
Yeah, I am not saying I believe it or not, and come to think of it, I think it was actually Suzanne Sommers talking. She was going on about how there are definate links to Diet Soda (I do think it was the sweetener used) and Alzheimers....heck what was I talking about...... Only problem I have ever experienced with Diet Soda is it just plain tastes nasty. The aftertaste is worse than cheap House Booze. Doesnt taste good, and it doesnt go away...
That and it can increase your craving for other sources of sweet sugary foods. Often people who switch to diet will find themselves eating larger than normal quatities of sweets to make up for the lack of sugar, making any weight loss or neutrality negligable anyway.
See, I have no problem with the taste, and generally I think they taste pretty similar (diet and not). Only thing that ever makes me think something isn't diet is if it is super-sweet (like pixie sticks were mixed in is what it seems like to me), otherwise I really wouldn't know. I mean, at this point I guess I am used to diet taste, and I think it is fine. Diet Dr. Pepper is one where I really have a hard time figuring out if it is regular or not, they taste that close together for me.
I can tell the difference between Diet and regular Dr. Pepper. At restaurants I can tell when they try to pawn of the name Dr. Pepper with some cheap imitation.
Its the best excuse I can think of.,but you may be right, since you are in a long line of people that have said the same thing. to know me is to love me.
