Coming out of the Senior Bowl, this is what I'd like to see us do come draft time in April:

    1. Chris Long (DE, Virginia). I think he gives us a ton of flexibility in our defense, whichever system we end up choosing albeit 3-4 or 4-3. A great character guy who will give you everything he has and then some. A natural leader for years to come.

2a. Terrell Thomas (CB, USC). I think we have to take a corner with this pick and I feel that Thomas will be the best one left at the time the 32nd pick rolls around. I'd love it if we could somehow land Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie but his stock has risen into the first round with a solid Senior Bowl week. I'm on the fence about Thomas, because I want to see what his 40 time ends up being. (other corners I like but not at this pick, Patrick Lee from Auburn, Dwight Lowery from San Jose St, Tracy Porter from Indiana)

2b. Carl Nicks (OT, Nebraska). I just love watching him play. He's not going to be a LT for us, at least not yet. He's better suited for RT. Tremendous power and a nasty attitude, he won't back down to nobody. But he plays smart too. I like Gosder Cherilus and Chris Williams too, but don't think they'll last this long. Nicks' stock is on the rise too, I hope he lasts until this pick...

    3. Red Bryant (NT, Texas A&M). No surprise that we target the middle of our defense with an early pick. This is another guy who'll have to fall to us if we're lucky. But there's no questioning his ability as a pure NT, can also play 1 or 2 technique not just the "0". could also go Dre Moore here, if he lasts. (other DT's I like at this stage and later, Travis Laws from Notre Dame, and Marcus Harrison from Arkansas)

    4. Kendall Langford (DE, Hampton). One might think why are we taking another DE at this pick? Well, Langford is not just a DE, he can play OLB too and if you have Long and Langford, talk about the possibilities on third down. Langford is 6-6 275 and is not just a pass rusher, as he's got good shade skills vs the run. His stock is on the rise, and could be going into the third round come draft time.

    6. Brad Cottam (TE, Tennessee). Just a beast of a target at 6-8, but the ability to get downfield. Some might see him going much higher. And yes, another hopeful pick that he would last this long, but he does have some medical red flag type issues with a long injury history. He has looked really solid though. Does BP get another Mark Bavaro with this guy? I think so, great hands and a very solid blocker. Cowboys loved taking Witten from Tennessee a few years ago. I'm thinking that we reach into the Vol's bag again for our TE of the future.

    7. Matt Flynn (QB, LSU). I think we'll go quarterback with one of these late picks and Flynn is the kind of qb we are likely to see at this stage of the draft. A proven winner, and solid athlete. Would make for a nice pick and complement to Beck.

(comp pick) I think we will get at least one comp pick, probably in the 6th to 7th round area. Chauncey Washington (RB, USC) or Matt Forte (RB Tulane) both have power and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, would look great in Sparano's offense.

I like it, i'd sub a wr for Nicks with the second 2nd but other than that well thought out and solid

rounds 3,6, and 7 are probably wishfull thinking. 4 might be as well since I'm not sure where Langford is projected to go. Nicks might not fall that far, but you'd have to ask KB or Boomer about that one.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like that draft, and it's a lot more reasonable than some, but I see everybody after Long going earlier than you think (except Thomas who I think goes later)

Forte was the Seinor Bowl MVP, I would be surprised if he's not gone before the 7th

We sould add a MLB somewhere in the draft as well, 3rd or 4th round would be my guess

According to Rotoworld, Matt Forte has raised his stock into the second round.
