I used to take the Xenadrine with ephedra that was taken off the shelves awhile back from GNC. While taking that I lost a ton of weight, and I honestly ate anything and everything I wanted. Of course after they stopped making it I eventually put the weight back on. Is there a similar product that any of you guys know of that would match the strength of the original Xenadrine? I'm mainly just looking for some help getting started by knocking off a few lbs while getting together an exercise routine and diet plan. Thanks.

Basically when George W. took Ephedra products off the shelves we all have been desperate for any type of alternative. Now, there are Ephedra "knockoffs" out there that use the name as a tecnical way for you to thing its the ols ephedra we all loved so much.

Personally I like Lipo-Flame alot and have heard good things about a product called "shredder" havent looked into it much myself.

Good Luck bro, having our ephedra taken from us put alot of people in bad spots.

Yeah. I've tried the 'new' Xenadrine, Hydroxycut, & Anorex with no success...all garbage IMO.

Haven't tried it, it's not a stimulant but more or less an appetite suppressant.

    Are you serious?

You do realize SEVERAL people died from ephedra right? Several Pro players even.
    Ever hear of Kory Stringer?

I took it for a good year and never had any negative side effects...but I also wasn't outside in the heat doing hardcore training either. I rarely even exercised while on it and the weight just fell off.

    good article

There are MANY things out there that can kill you if abused...these guys abused the content and tried to use it as a miracle worker. If they read the directions and followed it they couldve prevented this.

Alcohol, Nicotine, Caffiene, even Mcdonalds can all kill you if you abuse them.

Hydroxycut as a weight loss supplement or appetite controller is entirely useless as is the new Xenadrine. I did like the old Xenadrine as my appetite decreased and my workouts seemed to go up a notch; definitely have not found an equal.

There's two good weight loss supplements I have found:
colon cleanse - There can be anywhere from 5-20 lbs of waste stuck in your colon at any time. Get rid of it on a day off...notice i say on a day off, unless of course your boss doesnt mind you spending half a day in the bathroom.

The second is just drinking water like its your job. It seems to keep me full at least so I dont eat a lot. Do that and skip the chips aisle in the supermarket and you should do fine.

Drinking water is indeed a key.
I had a trainer explain it like this once.
Your body stores just about everything . Water helps the conduit (Your blood) move everything to the parts of your body that needs it.
If you intake tons of protiens but don't rehydrate often, your body doesn't move it around like it needs to.

Of course there is good and bad with everything, however, please read much before putting anything into your body.
I have used Ephedra, more than I care to admit. It helped with weight loss, but it also made me moody and feel...well like CRAP.

Here is another article I suggest reading. This is by the RAND group and is very bi-partisan. Nothing more than research

    http://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/RB4556/index1.html

I will hilight the final findings, but I really suggest reading the entire thing

I STRONGLY suggest reviewing Table 2. It includes 84 deaths, quite a few Strokes, seizures and Heart Attacks.

I've been taking Green Tea pills with Hoodia in them this week ... supposedly they are supposed to suppress appetite, but, if anything, I've found myself hungrier after taking them.

From a results standpoint I haven't seen much of a difference, but again, I've only been taking them for a week.

The two diet pills I've researched and considered are PatenTrim and HydroxyCut ... but I haven't tried either of them.

I tried the Hydroxycut for a short time. Didnt see any results, BUT I wasnt that active while trying it.

I have recently (2 months or so) been using Chromium Picolinate, and have gone from 192 to 180, AND my BMI has gone from about 21%(I know, a huge tub of fat) down to almost 18%...BUT I have been doing MUCHO Cardio and strict diet along with it.

Cant wait for Jcow or LAB to tune into this thread and set us all straight, but I think what the "Docs" are gonna tell you is very simple:
Burn more carbs than you intake, and be very careful on what types of fat you intake.

No doubt ... I've been plateaued at about 270-275, but I haven't been nearly as devoted to exercise and diet the last month or so.

Good old self control in my diet and self discipline to work out has been, far and away, my best methods of success.

    Very funny az...:shifty:

Actually, I haven't heard much about chromium picolinate- something to look into. It's great that you've gotten you're BMI down, but be careful of using BMI as an accurate measure of how fit you are. My BMI is up around 23%, but that's b/c I'm carrying more muscle on my frame than the avg. 5'9" male. If you don't have access to a skin caliper or bodybugg, your eyes will never lie to you. You'll see it in the mirror.

Something I've just recently caught onto is that it is more than just cals in vs. cals out- the level of glucose in your muscles has a good bit to do with whether you're storing carbs and such as fat- which is why intense exercise is so important in a complete diet and fitness program. It uses those stores, changing insulin levels and what you do with the food you eat. I think the change in your diet has a lot to do with how successful you've been. You've taken control of the one part of what I call the 'Big 3 of fitness' that most people have the hardest time with. That takes a lot of discipline and willpower. Good on ya!

Well, a large part of it is availability.

Since moving to Texas in January, I now have a fairly nice gym about 2 mins walking from my office. My lunch is spent IN THE GYM...and I love it.

Prior to this, I was waking up at 4 in the morning, just to go into my own Garage and work out. Obviously, Cardio is one of the biggest advantages to a gym. Some of the equipment as well.

Its funny as I always seem to "Crave" good food when working out and adversely, eat quite a bit of CRAP when not.

I am monitoring my BMI a couple of ways, just excluding Emersion...for now anyways.

Yes, the mirror never lies, and neither does the fact I am Comfortably fitting back into my 33's...actually looking into finding some of my old 32" Levi's soon.

I am currently taking a supplement called Lipocut Hardcore. I have been using it for roughly a month and have lost about 25 lbs. I walk on my lunch break, use a elliptical trainer about 2-3 times a week and have been limiting my calorie intake to about 2200 calories. I know that I do miss the ephedra.
