I got it from a local used game store, 30 mins across town. I had to beg my dad to give me a ride there since I couldn't drive yet. Some of the best $240 I have ever spent.
Just a little FYI, today in the Best Buy ads they are offering an 80GB PS3 plus your choice of either Little Big Planet, MLB 09 the Show, or Killzone 2 for $399. So you are essentially getting a PS3 for 339 bucks for anybody who might be interested in getting one.
Well the PS2 was $300 brand new and the PS3 was $500-$600 on release so the PS2 was basically half the price so to me that was cheap in comparison. I'm sure there is a counter argument to that such as technology differences but for some reason the PS2 flew off the shelves a lot faster than the PS3 has (but I guess some will say games were the reason but I say price). Maybe its just me and the people I know but I personally waited to the price of the PS3 dropped and I know others that have gotten 360s on price alone. Games were only secondary reasons, so in my personal opinion the most expensive console is last in console sales and once again from my personal experience that is because of its price.
I'm sure most will say because it was the only option (xbox wasn't out yet). And it didn't "fly off the shelves" right away if you look at the sales numbers. While it did probably do better than the ps3, I recall it was pretty steady pace for the 1st 2 years. Now the Wii is flying off the shelves.
