This reaction doesn't surprise me, neither would the signing of TO at some point. This regime has shown a propensity to do other than what is expected to improve the talent on the team. As to whether or not TO is a good candidate to be on this team because of his attitude/ability to destroy teams, I don't think he is, but his production is there and the Tuna has shown that he can get past the other antics if the production is here (see one LT a few years back)....
Unless they were trying to be funny, i.e. the statement came from another interview, they actually played a sound bite from BP.
I believe he said it. And I believe his motivation was to stick it to T.O. Profootballtalk has a list of teams that have publicly stated they are not interested in T.O. I think its up to 15. Now, Rosenhaus cannot lie to the 49ers that the Dolphins are interested. The more teams state they aren't interested, the worse T.O.'s leverage is with whatever team is fool enough to entertain contract talks.
Thank Goodness!!! He'll no doubt land somewhere and it won't be long before he places blame in every direction except towards himself!!
If there was a need for TO then i could see it. I also could have see ROy williams here before the Wilson signing. We don't need TO, if we need a big wideout there are better ways to aquire one. I could see BP only bringing in someone of that nature if there is a need and there are no other options. Thats not the case were in right now.
It would absolutely shock me. Parcells has never particularly hid his dislike for him or his dissatisfaction with Jerry Jones for bringing him to Dallas. It probably contributed in a major way to Bill's decision to leave the Cowboys. Just the fact that he dismissively referred to T.O. as "The Player" should tell you how much he thought of him. Also, I don't think the comparisons with LT is accurate here. LT had his share of problems, mostly substance abuse, but when it actually came down to football he was never divisive or a cancer in the locker room.
I think that the translation is "TO will not be on our team as long as I am involved with it." Tuna said that he promised Wayne he would stay through 2 drafts - He may be saying that next year when he is gone (speculation) then Tony and Jeff can do what they want but he (Parcells) would never sign off on it.
Why couldn't Andre or Calvin Johnson be released? That would be sweet for us. TO is not worth the headache.
Because both of those players are young, great, and team players who catch everything that come their way. Theyr'e the anti Terrell Owens.
T.O. Ocho Cinco. Randy Moss. Is it my imagination, or do a disproportionate number of wide receivers have deep-seated personality disorders as opposed to other positions?
I dunno the answer to that, Doc Shou would be an authority, but I see what you see. Maybe it is the "kind" of personality that thrives in the WR environment ??
I Think TO would be bad for us but i do think we should go after Boldin! Was gutted not to see chase TJ, seahawks lucky to land him.
I never understood why anyone would think we would go after TO. Obviously TO was not a Parcells signing in Dallas and obviously one of the many reasons he left.
I would take the risk of signing him, if the price is right. T.O. may go about things in a wrong way, but I see his desire to win. Imagine if the Patriots picked him up...? d-1
well you dont have to worry about that since he went to Budffalo.. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/08/AR2009030800254.html now we have to play moss 2 times a year and TO 2 times a year... GREAT..
