I know the Terrell Owens to Miami discussion is about to start with Dallas cutting him moments ago. I guess i'll start up the conversation with saying... please don't bring that cancerous football player to Miami. I don't remember if Parcells liked him or not. I think I remember Jones aquiring him behind Parcells back and Bill didn't like him. But I know the discussion will come up with our "need for a #1 WR."

I'm pretty sure they mutually didn't like each other. After Parcells left Dallas didn't T.O mouth off about him and that got Keyshawn all wriled up? I love T.O's play, but I'm pretty certain there's no chance he goes to the Dolphins.

He's not as bad as advertised. I doubt it happens, but he stays clean of any off-the-field trouble and I mean any whatsoever. He's completely clean. He's always in shape, plays hurt most of the time, and is dependable.

Sure he's got a big mouth but under Parcells he ran a pretty tight ship.

I'm curious, who does he go to?

    - Redskins?
    - Giants?
    - Baltimore?

I seriously doubt there will be any discussion of Owens and Miami.

Parcells didn't want him in the first place. Jerrah decided he had to have him. It was weeks before Parcells actually talked to "the player".

Absolutely no chance he's on the radar. None. Jason Taylor is a Dolphin before TO would be.

After I posted, I remembered Parcells not mentioning him by name. I just knew the threads would be coming, or maybe not now. I do like the fact that he stays out of trouble but he's a selfish player who is a team cancer, when he doesn't get his 10 catches a game.

My prediction is Washington or New York but don't think Coughlin would take a player like T.O.

The Jets would make sense but I think they might want to avoid the media circus. Parcells was just about the only HC he ever respected.

It'll be a contender who's desperate for some dependable move the chains offense, that has a speed guy to complement him. It could be Baltimore since Ray Lewis and Suggs may have the ego to calm the mother****er down.

He really isn't as big of a problem as advertised though. He asks for catches and banters and does this and that but you'll never hear about Owens getting arrested, showing up out of shape, his contract is what he plays for (doesn't really go out to the media to ask for it). He's got a stigma because of what did years earlier. If you shut his trap usually he's worth it. He's still a top 7 WR. He'd give our offense a huge injection right in the arm. I'd consider him on a one-year deal so that if he's a problem boom he's gone mid-year.

Sparano and Parcells can play good cop, bad cop with him. it will help endear Owens to Sparano. I say get ur popcorn ready. but i doubt it will actually happen.

Considering they tagged Bryant at almost 10 million and gave Mike Clayton of all people 5 mil a year to go along with Winslows big contract, that would be a lot of money tied up in recieving weapons. They have the money to make it happen though.

Geez. I didn't know Bryant got that much. And 5 mil a year for Mike Clayton? We're talking the scrub Mike Clayton not Mark Clayton who plays for the Ravens right? Geez, I take back what I said about Tampa. They overspent on some really high class scrubs there.

i'd be scared of him going to the pats, but the giants just makes perfect sense. he stays in the nfc east, so he gets 2 chances to trash talk both the iggles and boys each season, he becomes their #1 WR, he'll get just as much media attention as in philly and dallas, and he has a good shot to win a super bowl.

Begs the question of why not just wait for Torry Holt to be cut or trade for him for that matter (4th-6th round pick)? We pay no signing bonus and we get our #1 wide receiver with no issues. He'd be fantastic for Ted Ginn Jr. since he's very similar in size and at one point ability. He has perfect routes is still a number one receiver and could really help Chad Pennington out.

Sure he's less talented than Owens but we need a guy like Holt. Until this last miserable year he still kept on producing 1000 yard seasons. Chad Pennington would love a Torry Holt as Holt will easily be in the perfect place at the right time. He'll have space with Ted Ginn Jr. assisting him in spreading the field, Bess and Camarillo in the slot and in the red zone Brandon London could help out. I know giving away draft picks isn't always intelligent but really we've done nothing with our fourth round pick since Randy friggin McMicheal. At least put it to good use and save the signing bonus it takes to sign Holt. You would essentially be saving yet another pick from having to be used on a need. It would CB and whatever the heck we want.

His salary going into this season would be 8m but it would have zero bonus whatsoever. I could easily see him eating 4m of that to have a new deal, maybe a 4/24m deal which for Holt is very reasonable. His injuries are overrated. With a good system he'll be a consistent 1100 yard threat for the next four years and make a strong tandem with Ted Ginn Jr. For what? A fourth round pick, a fifth round pick? Are you kidding me.

No way he is considered to be signed here. If we have no interest in Coles than there is no way that we have interest in Coles

We had interest in Coles. We didn't have interest in paying a non-#1 receiver that kind of cash. That's all there was to it.

I'd prefer Tory Holt, but TO may do, if one wants to win sometimes you have to take calculated risks on talented players.

One year deal I wouldn't mind it. He'd only blow up if we were losing anyway, and even when he's being an annoying jerk he still plays hard.

If the guy could only shut up and play... imagine the possibilities with him on this team. Him as our #1, followed by ginn and bess/camarillo... Hell, then just for fun throw henne in there for the extra arm strength... No doubt in my mind, we would easily win this division again...

HOWEVER.... TO can't shut his mouth, and seems to destroy every team he plays on, so the above is useless, and im with you all, no thanks to TO in Miami. This team was built last year of 53 guys with no ego's... just 53 guys playing hard, as a TEAM... TO would ruin all of that.

God, please have him sign with the jets!!! That team has no leaders to keep him in check.

God, please don't have him sign with the Pats. Bellichek is arrogant enough to think he can corral him...and he might be right!

The ONE thing that I agree completely with Skip Bayless on: TO = Team Obliterator... everywhere he goes. Dallas was supposed to be his IDEAL situation, one where he was truly happy. Well look at what happened now.

I think Miami would rank only above the Cowboys on the chart of teams likely to be interested in Owens.

They may not like one another...

But Bill isn't the head coach, Tony is. Bill won't have to deal with him much after he is signed.

While I don't think it will happen, we can't use what happened in Dallas as the complete guide to speculate on what may happen. Bill would be making the choice to bring him in, not be told he is coming. Don't recall Dallas' need at WR at that time, but we have a real need in Miami. Coles wasn't that guy because don't think they consider him a true #1. TO is!

Highly unlikely and I am torn, while I want the man's talent, he just brings too much baggage for my liking. Not to mention he dropped a lot of catchable balls last year.

Jets don't have the money and if TO would have a problem catching balls from Penny...who the hell is going to throw him the ball in NY? And in that media circus, TO's head would explode.

A one year deal with an option would be interesting. Also a no talking to media or public displays of any kind clause as well.

Part of me cant escape the fact that he is absolutely made for Pennington. I really think we could win the superbowl next year with T.O. The problem is, two other teams have felt that way (Philly, Dallas), and it hasn't worked for them for whatever reason.

    I really am not sure.

That should be 3 teams...don't forget the 49ers...

Look, does this really deserve a thread ?? As talented as the man is, he destroys every team he touches, not to mention he'll be 36 before the end of the season...lets move on...

I just love how it’s a known entity that there are NO takers for TO…but guess what, that opinion will change before long. Why ?? simple, the guy can still play (be it for only a short time) and now has a chip on his shoulder since he’s being “dissed” by everyone and every team. Edgar Thompson was not as far off as some would say about TO finding a destination here.

Sure, the Tuna didn’t want him, but he loved his production. Sure, he caused the Tuna some restless nights with his antics. Sure, he caused a rift between the Tuna and Jerrah, but he also produced. And that is really what the Tuna is about. Look, he put up with all of LTs antics and just because they weren’t as public (realistically, a disruptive off the field force as LT wouldn’t make it in today’s game with today’s press) doesn’t mean that the Tuna won’t have them. Remember, he’s truly doing all the shopping now…and he’d only have to live with TO’s crap for a year, since he’s surely gone next offseason.

The bottom line with TO is that he’ll garner interest because first and foremost, he produces. The other antics, with the right cast can be overcome for a year…

I’m not predicting that he’ll be a Fin, and I personally hope not, but mentioning a Tuna and the player reunion isn’t as far fetched as you might think…
