Finally. Somebody GETS it. Now if Thomas comes back and becomes a monster, we'll have a good, as well as a deep, offensive line.

We shouldn't just be thinking of starters and backups. We should be thinking of people who can be rotated in and out without dropoff in execution. Fresh linemen, all good enough to start.

I'm so happy I'm going to go out and get a tuna sandwich for lunch.

I don't automatically trust everything the FO does. After all, we got mccown and wilford. We'll see how it all plays out though.

He bench pressed nearly 500 pounds in college and played the last eight games of the 2001 season with a broken hand, which is the kind of toughness that Dolphins vice president of football operations Bill Parcells admires.

However, Grove has had durability issues since entering the league. He has only played one full season in the NFL, in 2006. But he passed an extensive team physical Tuesday before finalizing the deal.

Yes, FINALLY. The pieces are there. Got to believe Sparano can put this bunch together, too. Potentially, best OL we've fielded in 30+ years.

That's a ridiculous amount of money for a player of Grove's caliber, especially seeing that Brown could have been had for a couple million more a season. Not a fan of this move.

    I like the move.

Whilst I am a fan of Satele, and injuries did limit his play last year, the fact is that Satele was drafted to be a mobile downfield center in Cam Cameron's offensive scheme and in Sparano's offense the center is called upon to do different things. At the very least we now have a bit of depth across the interior line even if Grove doesn't end up a starter.

Also anybody who appears to be average on a bad team is very likely to be above average on a normal or good team.

I wish we got Jason Brown instead, but I trust what ever the FO does. Good move.

I dont know how i feel about htis right now. We gave him a pile of money, and i keep hearing (reading articles, and on sirius) that this guy isnt much of an upgrade, and just in general that its alot of cash for him. It's a bit discouraging seeing how just for a few million more we could have had brown. Well, who knows though. I guess i will reserve judgment for now until we see how he performs. This FO hasnt done anything really yet to question their moves... So I'm still going to have to trust them on this one for now.

While I hear what you are saying about rotating guys in and out, not sure that happens too often, outside of perhaps situational downs. This would adversely affect the cohesiveness across the line. But what is important is depth. And we certainly added a bunch of that. Now let the competition begin for the 5 starters. And we really have no depth at LT, if Long should ever get hurt. So there is more to do still.

That's alot of money though for a backup. If Grove doesn't start, this move has the ability to make Wilford's signing look genius in comparison.

This is the first move by the FO that I've absolutely hated, I sure as hell hope that Grove proves that feeling wrong.

Not to bash Satele or anything....but when you are a center, have the ball in your hands and get called for a false start....something is a bit wrong. I think that happened a couple of times this year against larger Nt's

A few things that came out .

1/Grove has a different OL coach every year he has played.

2/Because he has seen so many coaching and scheme changes he understands just about any terminology that is used in the NFL

3/When asked about his injury history he claims he really only had one and that the others were as a result of not taking care of the initial one properly .He said he finally had the injury taken care of in 2006.

4/He wants to play for a winner.Thats all he asked from his agent.

Many of the other answers were predictably PC .

Sounds like positive news CrunchTime. Still, I wish our front office just put an extra 2 million for Jason Brown.

They proved there intentions were true last year, quit drinkin' the Hatorade... 8 million is a BIG difference people! That is MILLIONS not hundreds or thousands! I think the trifecta know what they're doing.

The best thing about having Parcells in the front office is that anything said outside of the organization in the offseason means nothing.

really your going to compare an UDFA and Camarillo's salary as far as quality WRs?

if we could find WRs like that as we please, i sure hope we dont waste a draft pick on one.

Which is why I hope we don't waste a #1 draft pick on a WR. Could we use a Larry Fitzgerald? Sure, who couldn't - but we've got more pressing needs like a hoss NT and playmaking ILB / CB.

unfortunately, its not likely that a playmaking ILB or hoss NT will be there at 25. so that leaves CB & WR.

The best LBs we've ever drafted were after the first round. I'm going by memory here, but Offerdahl was a 2, Bryan Cox was a 3 and Zach was a 5th. There will be a playmaking LB available - whether we find him or not is another question.

WR @ #1 is a huge crap shoot.

im not sure the context of the LB thing? you said dont pick a WR in the first round, because we have more pressing needs at ILB, NT and CB.

i simply stated there wont be a ILB or NT there worth the first pick...

Gotcha. If that's the case, just personally? I'd trade out of it and gather more picks.
