i want to here your opinions but before you criticize it too much, just take into consideration that i have read up on most of the players in the draft and did a lot of studying up on them.this is also based on only if the juniors that i have drafted come out this year. i also posted some highlights of the players from youtube.com. All the projections and stats are from walterfootball.com. here it is... Also since we will have high picks in every round the projections of round 1-2, for example, is very possible to get them in the later round llisted (like round 2)

I might actually like this better, but im not sure ... 1..long, 2..terrel thomas CB USC, 2..Otah.......then the rest, if otah will fall to the late 2nd, which i've seen some mocks where he does fall that far.

1...Chris Long, DE Virginia Projected Round: Top 5 Pick
    Height: 6-4...Weight: 284...40 Time: 4.78.

2...Jeff Otah, OT Pittsburg Projected Round: 1-2.
    Height: 6-6...Weight: 340...40 Time: 5.24.

2...Dwight Lowery, CB San Jose ST. Projected Round: 2.
    Height: 6-1...Weight: 185...40 Time: 4.38.

3...Chase Coffman, TE Missouri Projected Round: 2-3
    Height: 6-6..Weight: 245...40 Time: 4.75.

4...Jeremy Leman, ILB Illinois Projected Round: 4.
    Height: 6-2...Weight: 240...40 Time: 4.77.

    5...(traded for Trent Green)

6...Jason Rivers, WR Hawaii Projected Round: 6-7
    Height: 6-2...Weight: 192...40 Time: 4.49.

7...Marcus Harrison DT, Arkansas Projected Round: 6-FA
    Height: 6-3...Weight: 310...40 Time: 4.98.

    Some possible key FA moves:
WR...Bryant Johnson (ARI), Patrick Crayton (DAL), or Benard Berian (CHI)
DT...Albert Haynseworth (TEN) IF MONEY IS RIGHT BUT I HIGHLY DOUBT IT WILL BE

i also would like to make a trade to get into the 5th round and pick up:
5...Andrew Bain, OG Miami Projected Round: 4-5
    Height: 6-3...Weight: 330...40 Time: 5.22.
A massive guard who can help any team's running game. Started every game in 2006.

Just for the record, i did call the john beck pick last year in the 2a pick.
Dwight Lowery CB (jersey #25 in video) (2b pick) [ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=S_LKUYxnkaI"]http://youtube.com/watch?v=S_LKUYxnkaI[/ame]

Chris Long DE (#1 pick) [ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=QkQDF6pghQU"]http://youtube.com/watch?v=QkQDF6pghQU[/ame]

wow, im not saying those guys aren't good, but not one of your top 4 picks has played a serious game all season. Also the sheer thought of not drafting at least one SEC player scares the hell out of me. Well, outside of your 7th rounder.

they dont go to big time schools but they are good players. most of the sec players that are good are in places where we dont draft or positions where we don need. i would like to see your mock draft. id like to see you put in a couple of sec players. granted sec player are good but to be good in nfl you dont have to go to a big time school (SEC)

I haven't gone deep into the draft info just yet, so i can't give you a full draft. I actually agree with your first round pick, but a guy like Dorsey or McFadden could both go there as well. Long would fit in the 3-4 system best, but Dorsey's a fantastic defensive lineman. But i'd be happy with Chris long for sure.

I don't see Coffman making it out of the 2nd round, if we're taking him, which i also agree with, we should take him with the 2nd 2nd rounder.

I can't comment on the rest as of right now however, just think we'll have better options than Jeff Otah with our very high 2nd.

I saw a mock just now of Dorsey, terrel brown (I think thats the name, its the guy from USC CB), Otah at T, then Davis at 3. I think thats a very good draft. DT, CB, RT, and TE. get trufant at CB (dono much bout the usc guy) and thats a nice setup on a team for a base of getting needs filled with good talent. But WR woudl still need to be addressed at LB.

Jason Rivers or Devon Bess would be steals in the 6th round!! Their stocks might rise after the Sugar Bowl but Randy Mueller always seems to have a nack for Hawai'i players.

I love the Lowry pick. Definitely not sure about Chris Long unless we move down, he's not a #1 overall. If I had my druthers the Cowboys would overpay for the #1 pick so they are guarenteed McFadden...God I hope this comes true.

If not I'd like to see us get Dorsey, Lowry, Keith Rivers and Laurence Jackson. I know we can't get all of them because they are all top round picks but two of the four and I'd be happy as a clam :]

Going to SJSU I've had a lot of time to watch Lowry and let me tell you this guy is the real deal. Plus he's a good guy without an ego, but then again we do need some mean guys on our defense (Fins).

Addressing Terrel Thomas...being a USC fan and watching a lot of their games as well I can say that Lowry is probably the better pro of Thomas; Thomas wasn't really that spectacular.

Dal deal would be only good if we get the 2 1sts, a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 1st next year b/c there picks are ALL late roudn picks as they will most likely hit the SB. so basically we will be getting 1 late 1st cuz the browns will be in the 17-24 range prob, Dal 1st is a 2nd basically, their 2nd is a 3rd, the 3rd is a 4th, and next years 1st will be another very late 1st.

I dono if its worth it then let alone for Dal to make such a deal.

IF taht were to go down, I wouldnt mind miami going with, Hardy with the Dal (brown pick), then Otah wiht the Dal pick, then Davis TE wiht our 2nd, then Leman wiht the SD 2nd, and Steltz with the Dal 2nd.

Thats a WR (big need n big huge gigantic fast target), HUGE RT, PLAYMAKING TE, MLB of the future, and a hard hitting SS (neone know how he does in coverage tho? Ive seen a few games n seems decent but only a few games so info woudl be good) then get a CB wiht the 1st 3rd, and a DE with the 2nd 3rd.

FA u get Trufant n plug some holes along with a Vet WR and a G.

and u have a 1st next year again.

build the D next year in Draft czu once we get a T, a G (FA), a WR, a WR (FA), a TE and our offense should be done wiht 1 group of rookies, 1 group of 1 yr vets, and a RB of 4 yrs. thats a solid foundtation. You got minor D youngsters and with the draft after this coming up u load up on some DT DE spots and ur good to go.

there is so much D-line talent in this draft it isnt even funny. there is alot of LB, CB in this draft too. you cant wait until next draft to get D, you have to mix them into both draft, drafting both O and D.

yea buts its hard to do so esp with the way we did it last year, first 4 picsk were O. I dono we have so many damn holes its disgusting. I think its fixable within 2 yeras of FA n draft. but by the time for them to understand the game n settle into it itll be about 2-3 yrs in rookie n more picks come in by taht time so should be a good team within 2-4 years.

ya we picked mostly offense last year and we see how well that turned out. our d needs some help now too. its gettin old and the replacements should at least have a year or two to learn from thmas and taylor before they retire
we cant adress 1 need in offence and just forget about our d like last year. we went from #4 d to #30 or whatever we are now.

ya but that isnt solely based on talent. a lot has to do with scheme and saban. i told everyoen saban was a hugee part of that D. think about it dude, Same roster, same talent, same ppl from the past 2 years but 1 guy missing in saban and 2 pro bowlers in JT and JP aren't playign to their level nor are the rest. as holliday said, capers is putting everyoen out of position. JP is playing DE for crying out loud. loll might as well put ZT at SS.

i absolutely love this draft scenario!!! i love the balance between offense and defense!!! addressing what essentially are the needs of the team.... i have liked dwight lowery for quite some time... ever since i read about him in on a draft sight last season... i have followed his stats tried and have read up on him as much as possible this season!!! the only thing i would question is the passing up of such an offensive talent like darren mcfadden!!! GOOD JOB!!! i would love to shake your hand if this senario came true!!!

Here is the problem with this mock draft. There is not a single Samoan on it. Please look it over and fix this glaring problem.

we're going to get some conditional picks for the following:

Damien MCIntosh, Starter LT for KC Chiefs
Sammy Morris, Part Time Starter for New England Patriots
David Bowens, Part Time Starter for NY Jets
Jeff Zgonina, Part Time Starter for Houston Texans
Darian Barnes, Back up for NY Jets?
Kyle Eckel, Back up for New England Patriots

We won't get credit for Kevin Carter, Randy McMichael or Olindo Mare because we cut those players.

We should get at least a fifth round pick, maybe one of those fourth rounders because of the fact that McIntosh started for most of the season.

that would be awesome cuz i was wanting to trade back into the 5th to get andrew bain OG Miami. he is a run blocking guard and is a beast. once i find out the conditional picks i will put them in my draft, but to be too surprised if they are only a few low picks.

The only thing I will talk about is the Chris Long pick. I do not think he is a better DE than Calais Cambell.

It's way too early for a mock draft.

Somebody could still get injured. An outstanding Bowl Game might thrust somebody into the limelight (i.e. JaMarcus Russell). The Combine might cause somebody's stock to rise or fall. Or we might actually convince another team to trade up and we would acquire more picks. We might trade JT. We might trade JT on draft day. And free agency will certainly impact who we target in the draft.

That being said, it's still fun to try...

    1. Chris Long seems like solid pick at #1. I haven't seen him play yet, but I've heard good things. I'm gonna spotlight him in the Gator Bowl.

I would say Dorsey, McFadden, or a QB are all also options as we stand today.

One possibility nobody is considering: Sedrick Ellis.

IF Ellis has a great Rose Bowl and Combine. IF injuries are too much of a concern in regards to Dorsey. IF Long doesn't grade out high enough. IF we're happy with Beck and Ronnie. And IF we can't trade down.

Something else to consider: We need to replace Zach Thomas. Mike linebacker is the heart of any 4-3 defense. Not sure if the same applies to a 3-4 defense. What do you guys think? And if Capers is fired, what kind of defense will we run next year?

Dan Connor, Philip Wheeler, Beau Bell, and James Laurinaitis (if he declares) are all likely to be drafted in the 1st round. Would any of them be considered a reach if they go on to become Pro Bowl players and the core of our defense?

    2. Jeff Otah is another solid pick. If we don't acquire one of the OTs available via free agency. I also like Tracy Porter, the CB from Indiana. He is every bit as good as Lowery and has played against tougher competition.

    2. If we don't take Lowrey, then Roy Schuening, the OG from Oregon, would be a steal here. Or we might take a WR to replace Chambers and/or Booker. And if Colt Brennan is still on the board it would be hard to pass him up even with all our concerns on defense. Personally, I really like the SS from Michigan, Jamar Adams. Safety is a huge need for us right now.

    3. I don't like the Chase Coffman pick at all. Only because TE is very low on my priority list. I would much prefer an OT like Tony Hills from Texas or Drew Radovich from USC. Or Bruce Davis, the DE from UCLA. And I really like the Safety from LSU, Craig Steltz (although we might be able to get Steltz in the 4th round considering we're most likely picking first in every round).

    4. The 4th round might be a little high for J Leman. But I like him a lot, too. The Combine is gonna be huge for Leman because I've seen him rated anywhere from the 4th round to the 6th round. He would be a steal in the 6th. (Damn! I wish we had a 5th round pick! Hopefully we'll get at least one compensatory pick.) Also, I would draft the LB from Arizona, Spencer Larsen, before Leman. Just a gut feeling. Larsen seems like more of a playmaker.

    6. I like Jason Rivers a lot, too. But I suspect his stock will rise. I noticed a lot of WRs were graded too low in last year's draft. And Rivers's production in college will catch a lot of team's eyes. Also, if he runs a fast 40 at the Combine you can forget about drafting Rivers in the 6th.

    7. Harrison would be a great pick in the 7th round. But I really like Gary Guyton, the OLB from Georgia Tech. Derek Lokey, the DT from Texas might also be available in the 7th if Harrison is off the board. And don't forget about Luke Swan, the WR from Wisconsin. He's injured, but if he wasn't he would be off the board well before the 7th round. We could pull a Rod Wright and draft Swan with an eye to the future. Taking a risk on an injured player is a great way to get superior talent in the 7th round.

    As far as FA goes:
I'm not a big fan of Bryant Johnson, Patrick Crayton, or Benard Berrian. Also, I doubt Chicago will let Berrian go.

    Albert Haynseworth would be great.

I forgot about Jonal Saint-Dic, the DE/OLB from Michigan State. He currently has a 5th round grade, but I'm telling you guys this kid is a playmaker, plain and simple. Forget about 40 times and broad jumps. JSD is not a track star, but he can play football.

If we get this guy in Round 4-6 we will have one of the steals of the draft. Mark my words.

But don't take my word for it. Check him out in the Champs Sports Bowl on December 28 when Mich St takes on Boston College. Just watch BC's QB, Matt Ryan. I guarantee you Saint-Dic will sack him at least once.
