    Interesting.
We know it's old new, but we never really got the reason why.

Sounds to me that Tony just didn't like the way Maser did things, but being a good guy that he is, he didn't want to get in to it. He just said all the right things.

He felt that he shouted too much .Shouting works sometimes but if you do it all the time
    players tune out.

Haha, sometimes I wish my coach would think so.

I think Sparano didn't like the teaching job Tony M was doing inbetween games, that could be the shouting or what have you, but when Alleman and Ndukwe did not progress when we needed them to, Sparano made his decision.

All football coaches are like that bro, at least the ones I've had.

Hopefully our O-line will be better in 2009. We have our bookends with Jake Long and Vernon Carey. I hope we draft a Center, someone like Alex Mack, Unger or Luigs and slide Satele over to one of the Guard spots.

"Well, to be honest with you,

there's something that from my end -- and I don't want to get into it too much because I really think an awful lot of Mike and what Mike did for us -- but you have a feeling sometimes," Sparano said. "From my end, what I didn't want to do is if I have those kinds of feelings on where we need to be ... That group is a finicky group, that offensive line group."

"I think that to my end, communication-wise...

Sparano seems to be trying to describe Maser's coaching, in relative terms, with something that comes from his rear end.

    Sparano's a classy guy, but a no b.s. guy. I love him.

And imo, quieter players, like Satele and Vernon Carey, probably responded the least-well to Masers constant screaming approach. When everyone asks whether Satele is good enough after last year's performance, or why Vernon underperformed at times down the stretch.... I think you have to look at who got fired and who is still here.

The players respond well to Tony Sparano, but he could tell they weren't responding well to Mike Maser.

Sparano is a head coach with a lot of class. I am really glad Parcells waited for him until Dallas was eliminated. We're fortunate to have gotten him.

I agree 100%. This was a godsend for us to land him.

It sounds a lot like Sparano was trying to spare the guys feelings, because he likes him, but yeah, he obviously didn't like his coaching style.

There is a time and place where you have to jump down a players throat, but that can't be all the time. The limited reports were that with Maser it was an all the time kind of shouting and screaming that he used as his 'vehicle' to get his point across. That doesn't always work well in this day and age and with guys that are as talented at their craft as these guys are...even the backups and rookies...Maser needed to develop another tact when dealing with these guys...and the results speak for themselves. Ndukwe and Alleman never developed, not that they are top line talents, but they were making the same mistakes along the OL in the Ravens game as in their first games...It's almost a good thing that Thomas wasn't in there...one bad experience can ruin some of these young guys...

I can't wait to see how they attack the oline in FA and the draft. We could easily use and extra center, guard, and tackle right now. Hopefully with better ingredients and better coaching, our offensive line can be truly elite next season. Does that give anyone else goosebumps?

I was talking about his berating style in last years training camp...it was obvious and a little ridiculous to me....I have a hard time understanding that is was the reason why we played poorly but i guess its just human nature to not play at your highest level if you cant stand your coach.
