Lost to the sands of time, the story of Jews fleeing Germany and winding up in Shanghai China makes for a fascinating story: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=100522156 http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5488614 And interestingly enough, one of the best selling books in China is a study of how Jewish Communities preserve wealth intergenerationally.
I've read about them before. It's an interesting side-note historically but if the Jewish re-establish roots there, more attention would likely be paid.
"All Poles will disappear from the world.", Himmler Most of Poles where Jewish...not trying to diminish any...but to be Jewish and Pole...
Yeah pretty much a death sentence. Now also lost to history is the program that would take "misplaced aryans children (snicker)" from Polish families and hand them over to NAZI party supporter families, if a child had the "aryan attributes" they basically were kidnapped. The Shanghai diaspora always fascinated me, like a European City was transported to China.
yeah , 3 million jews, 3 million poles, 3 million both jewish & polish...are the crude rounded numbers that i have found to be the estimate.
