'At The Drive In' is one of the best Indie bands evar. They disbanded and the lead singer went on to become the frontman for 'The Mars Volta'. ATDI was alot harder than Mars and its ashame he decided to ripoff Pink Floyd with his new band :pity:

Check out their first album, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah I've heard of at the drive in.

Another band that has become popular recently but are a "love'em or hate'em" group is Ween. They're all kinds of different stuff but check them out.

You just like them because they're from El Paso. Did you ever see ATDI play down there?

The Tea Party. these guys are undeniably the best live band I have ever seen. Of course I'm a little bias 'cause I love them so much, but of all the concerts I've been to these guys have definitely been the most memorable.

This is one of my most favourite songs - ever. Comes in a close second only to Stairway.

Sleepmakeswaves. There's a couple of live tracks on youtube but they don't do them much justice. You can download them from their site though.

I'm pretty sure I have already but it was a while ago, I'll check them out again. The first Kamelot songs I listened to were some of their originals and I wasn't very impressed. Of course then I was made (yes made) to listen to Black Halo and I was like WTF is that the same band?... long story short, I'm all for giving bands a second go after that incident

Kamelot is a great band. Too bad Hip Hop has ruined the American Music Scene, progressive metal seems to have a hard time holding on over here.

    1. If you like Apollo Sunshine, you'd LOVE the Olivia Tremor Control.
    2. Anlgp, do you like Neutral Milk Hotel?
    3. Its actually called South by Southwest. And yes, every year great bands play. And yes, every year people say its played out, and too commercialized. And they've been saying that for about 10 years, but everybody keeps on going.
    4. I haven't thought about the Tea Party in about 15 years. They're still together?

    True story:

When I was in High School, I went out with a girl who was friends with Reb Beach's daughter. Reb Beach played guitar for Winger.

One night, we went over to Reb's house to pick up his daughter. We were all going to go over to Friday's for dinner. I was 17. We enter the house and Reb was really nice. Kip Winger was sitting on the couch, watching TV, eating out of a giant bowl of salad. The following exchange followed

Kip Winger: Nice to meet you, man. Want some salad?
Me: No thanks, Kip. We're going to Friday's.

I have a story about Kip too...he doesn't like me very much. Probably wouldn't know me if he tripped over me, but that night he hated me.

Let's just say while he was dancing around with his hands in the air, from the second row I noticed that I still heard bass lines.

Well...when the song ended I politely asked him (screamed at the top of my lungs is more like it) where they were hiding the other bass player.

    He didn't like that.

    *DISCLAIMER*

I was NOT there to see WInger! Went to see Cinderella.

The powers that are the basslines of Kip Winger do not follow the usual laws of physics. He is that good. You should be ashamed.
