I don't mean to look into the future like this, but I was really curious about this draft. I heard that we should trade for a first round pick next year because this draft will be very very good. Is that true? Can any draft gurus answer this question?
Herzlich, Ciron Black, Okung (OK-state LT), possibly 7 QBs worth 1st day picks (Lefevour, Heller, McCoy, Bradford, Robinson, and others I am probably forgetting). Possibly Dez Bryant at WR. Gerald McCoy and/or Demarcus Granger (DTs from Oklahoma). Possibly 2 of the best safety prospects to come out since Sean Taylor in Morgan Burnett (from GT) and Eric Berry (from Tennessee). There's a lot more than that, but that was off the top of my head. I however don't think we should trade down for the sake of trading down.
Lol, I didn't mean to say trade down. I meant Trade our first round pick this year in order to get another first round pick next year. If It's gonna be that loaded, I woul love to do that. Especially If we can get Mark Herzlich.
Who's to say that the 1st rounder we got (if we could even manage that, it's not like trades happen at will) would be a top 5 pick which is likely what it would need to be to get Herzlich.
I would not be down with this years 1 for a 1 next year. One our deuces maybe, but not the 25. We actually do need players this year. Stich you forgot the S from USC, taylor mays I think his name was, but I cant remember, focusing on '09 atm
Who's to say we can't trade both our picks to be in the top 5. Lol, just playing. I didn't know he was gonna be a Top 5 pick. I thought somewhere between 10-15. Either way, I would love to have two first round picks next year, along with a trading chip like Joey Porter.
