Thing is that San Fran didn't really lose anything. They moved down a few picks, but getting Phillips is WELL worth what they lost in terms of draft spots.

He didn't even move a full round down though. He moved about 20 spots (I think, dont feel like checking exact) when you get a very strong starter at OLB who can pressure the QB I think thats well worth it.

yeah, the salary was the thing... almost 3 mill... it's a fair trade either way, I had a mid second round grade on Phillips, so did Griddles, if you factor that in, it's even according to the points. Although, Griddles had me throw in that third round pick, which I didnt want to do originally lol... hopefully I'll have better luck trading down from 10 than Griddles did... plus Jyles Tucker showed he can start with Merriman being hurt this year. Cheaper alternative.

I don't think it was a bad trade at all. Just I think San Fran got the better end. If you didn't have to unload him due to salary I think you might have been able to hold out for better.

    But salary was an issue.

Also, getting up into the second round is huge, as I reckon I can get a starter there... unlike at pick 78... my team is pretty stacked.

Fair trade IMO, I lose a 2nd round pick but that's worth the price of bringing in a player of Shaun Phillips' caliber.

In my opinion I was never very high on Bodden, neither are many Detroit fans. I felt that I really need to upgrade my defensive line and I lived getting Holiday. I also needed an MLB and Torber really helps that hole.

I think overall it was a pretty fair trade, becuase I had the cap room to make this move.

Hope he plays better for you than he did in Miami cause he was horrible. I think he is better suited for the 4-3 look.

I love the Hardy Trade. Hardy is a freak, and under Ward should get huge numbers on the outside while Ward picks up the garbage routes, etc.

I love the Hardy trade for my side as well.

I needed another draft pick, and Timmons is a very solid player. Sure he didnt start but he still recorded 5 sacks. Hardy hasn't proven anothing it all, and I feel like I have 3 solid WR already.

well the Texans and Pats just agreed on a whopper... yummm... whopper...
This is probably the "biggest" trade so far. Pats certainly get younger and offload a bunch of cap. Essentially you have to break this trade up to understand it fully... Brady for a first (pick #5) and a third. I'd say that's fairly even, although this draft is fairly weak at the top so are you getting that sure fire pro bowler at pick #5? Probably not. Matt Light for Duane Brown... fairly even. Brown was the Texans first round pick last year, a little bit of a reach at the time perhaps, but he played fairly well for the Texans last year and will be a starting LT for a long time to come. Light is hated by most Dolfans of course had a high cap number... but adds veteran leadership to that Texans line. And then a 4th and a 7th from New England for Bulman and Molden. I suppose that's fairly even. I'd like to know what Duss thinks of Bulman and why he had him included in this trade? Good trade for both teams though... now will the Texans be able to trade Matt Schaub for Nnamdi Asomugha? cough cough... (like I did last year)

Cap implications though, don't make yourself sound like a master GM because you traded away a starting QB for an elite CB with an extremely high salary on a cap pressed team. :tongue2:

He is coming off a major injury, though...

He would be one of the few players worth two first round picks, IMO... If he didn't have that injury.

Texans? Cap Pressed?? Not when I had the key to the front office. Looks like someone is upset about not making that draft pick swap that someone pm'd them about yesterday that involved a 7th round pick... :shifty:

thats exactly what I was thinking...

I had a chance to get younger at a key position, get depth at DE with bulman and get a guy that might very well start next year at CB or at least be a nickel dime guy

Who if brady will return right

Doesn't matter... Philip Rivers was playing on a torn acl in the championship game a year ago. Came into camp and worked it all season. Brady is fine. All the doom and gloom is wishful thinking, IMO. Cas was going to be franchised no matter what. NE isn't letting him go for free.

I think HOU stole Tom Brady. 3 time Superbowl champ who won those superbowls with less then steller talent on offense. Plus HOU has built a really good defense. Maybe the best front 7 in the NFL (GM league). Duane Brown was awful last year. He lead the league in sacks allowed for any starting lineman in the NFL. He could improve, but regardless of what round he was drafted in, the production wasn't there. On top of it, He got might Light who's as solid as you can ask for (he had 7.5 sacks allowed, but Cassel struggled early on and got nailed a bunch, so I think that sack # is exaggerated). I also think pick #5 is overrated. The only real must have player is Crab, and he's going to be long gone at 5. The draft is so bottom heavy, I would of tried to milk 2 mid-late round firsts.

However taking the 9 or so mill in cap hurts a lot. However that can be rectified at another point.

Houston also got a high 4th (a few picks removed from a 3rd) and a 7th for a CB who didn't play much and a DT who played well in rotation.

    Advantage, Houston, IMO.

I think Houston got the better end of the stick, but to say Brady is worth more than a 1st and a 3rd round pick post-injury... Just not true, IMO.

It wasnt about value as much as it was numbers and fit. We saved over 1 mil in cap and we got more players back in return. Kenyunta and Eric both avg. the same amount of tackles Casey did and Sessions is an up and coming OLB, which all these players fit the D we are running better. Its all about #s, nothing else. Plus honestly I fear a line with Freeney and Hampton on it.

The GM league is so boring atm that the Panthers made a self trade

    Panthers send:

    RB Jonathon Stewart 1,743,750.00
    CB Ken Lucas 5,600,000.00

    Panthers Reciece:

    2nd round pick #34 overall
    4th round pick #98 overall

    :tongue2:

I have to say the Chiefs got the better end of that deal.
