Everyone's not going to see the same thing, the same way.I do think we need a 3rd down pass rusher.

But we need a starting OLB about as much as we need another QB IMHO.Matt Roth was Killer playing the run and still got 5 sacks on the year even with Miami taking him out on Passing down.

The only the reason why anyone would think we'd take a OLB is because of Bill's passed drafts, because they are not going by the play of our OLB's last year.

At the end of the day Bill drafts BPA for need and every time he took a OLB that team was in need of one, and this team doesn't have a need for one, not a starting one anyway. If we draft a OLB before the 4th round i'll be shocked.

I respectfully and totally disagree. We definitely do need another OLB/Pass-rusher, very much so. You could obviously see in the last several games that we were lacking in that department. Once teams figured a way to stop Joey P. with double teams etc., you could see a massive drop off in our pass-rush. As I've said before, if you give any QB enough time, he will eventually pick you apart and hit the big play. We've seen that happen to us way too many times.

I think we need, for now, a situational, but dominant pass-rusher to spell Roth on passing downs, because I love Roth at setting the edge and have the new guy and Peezy wreaking havoc on passing downs and then have that guy eventually replace Porter because he's not getting any younger.

A dominant pass-rush can mask weaknesses in other areas of your team, such as the Secondary, which is going to continue to be a work in progress, though they have made tremendous strides in the second half of the season under Bowles' tutelage, which is why I really don't want to lose Bowles. The Superbowl shows that at least you either need a dominant D like the Steelers or an O with some serous fire power like the Cards have in Fitz and Boldin, etc. It's would be ideal to have both. I would like both, which is why now I want someone like OLB L. Engliish(which is what he'll be in the NFL) in the 1st. and WR K. Britt in the 2nd. I doubt if they'll be there when we pick, but I think that would be a great way to go and would quickly upgrade both sides of the ball. IMO. :)

You said """I think we need, for now, a situational, but dominant pass-rusher to spell Roth on passing downs""".......................

In short your saying the same thing i am, i think we'll go after a pass rusher just not as soon as some/a'lot here think and we did spelled Roth all year, last year on passing downs.

Like i said Bill draft's BPA for need and i picked 2 of his first 3 picks right last year, after FA we'll all have a better look at what they will do in the draft. It will be very clear then what we'll be going after in the draft after FA.

I'm not really saying the same thing. I think a pass-rusher is a top priority and when we did spell Roth last year, it was not efficient enough. Were you satisfied with the pass rush towards the end of the season? We're not sure how C. Wake's going to be, but you can never have enough pass-rushers, IMO.

LOL go re read my 1st post all over again,,,,,,,,,,,,,where i say ""I do think we need a 3rd down pass rusher.""

    You must of missed that.

Wake is a nonfacter at this point,,,,,,,your saying how important a job it is yet you want a rook to do it????, I think they will get their Pass Rusher in FA and not leave it up to a rook.

After all that would be the start move and 9 times out of 10 that's what Bill does.

, "and this team doesn't have a need for one,"
"But we need a starting OLB about as much as we need another QB" IMHO.

I kind of referring to comments like those.. I'm saying we definitely do have a need for one. I'm saying to use him as the situational pass-rusher just at the beginning until he learns the ropes better and to eventually replace Porter, who's getting older, which I said earlier if you had read my post. :D ;)

You also missed the part in my first response to you which I said that I "respectfully" disagree. :D ,among the other issues about pass-rushing. ;) It's all good!
