Hello everybody. If you would like to see what the post week 13 draft order is, I have attached the PDF file of the order to this thread. The PDF was too large though, so that is why it is in a Zip folder.

Waitaminit...Nublar?? Here? OMG! I haven't seen you in well over a year. How's it going?

On topic, I don't think there's any way we're not picking #1 overall, but this is interesting in terms of what teams might fall in love with someone enough to trade up.

I rooting for San. Fran the rest of the year too. NE doesn't need the 2nd pick overall. Yikes

I am doing pretty well, thanks for asking. How about yourself?

The only way we could potentially lose the top pick is if we win at LEAST three of the last four games. As you can probably predict, we are pretty safe at #1. Unless the Dolphins put together some amazing run we won't have to worry about drafting anywhere else. It sucks though that we lose the SOS tie-breaker with every three win team, so it means we really only have a 2.5 game cushion.

    Some things of note:

    1. We are guaranteed a top 9 pick.
    2. If we lose at least one of our remaining four games, we are guaranteed a top 5 pick.
    3. It is mathematically possible to clinch the first overall pick this upcoming weekend.

One little note about this week though. I am not sure of the tie-breaking rules when THREE teams have the same SOS, two are from the same conference and the other is from the other conference. I took the conference tie-breaker for Atlanta and St. Louis and then said the loser of that tie-breaker would face the Jets in a coin toss. Not 100% sure how a three way tie that includes a team from another conference works.

Here is all our picks for the upcoming draft, post Week 13. Keep in mind though that this does NOT include the 32 compensatory picks that will be added after the season:

    1st round (1)
    2nd round (32)
    2nd round (53) - From San Diego
    3rd round (64)
    4th round (96)
    6th round (158)
    7th round (190)

I don't want to get into it, but I made the mistake of mentioning the other Dolphins fan website back in May 2006 and was banished for life. I would stop by, but I can't.

At least New England doesnt have another pick until the end of the second round. Hopefully #62, which would mean they lost the Super Bowl. Which would be hilarious if they were 18-0 going in the that game.

Nice to see that all my SOS check out with another person who does the order. I double checked all my formulas, but without something to compare it too, you can never be 100% sure of yourself. Now I see that I am 100% correct on those numbers. I only have two comments on the one GBN put together:

    1. Again, like I said earlier I am not sure what the order is between 3-5 with the Falcons, Jets and Rams. The tie-breaking rules does not give a scenerio where three teams are tied with the same SOS and where at least one team is from a different conference.

    2. They are wrong with #7 and #8. Kansas City picks ahead of Oakland. Why? Well, because they have the same SOS, they split head to head, the have the same Division record, but KC has a worse conference record. A coin flip only takes place when all the division/confernce tie-breakers are the same or if the two teams are from different conferences.

What this really means is San Fran needs to really win 2 more games in the last 4. That would drop San Fran to at least 10 in the draft.

At least a 5th is low cost.

Could have been the 2nd for A.J. Feeley or the 2nd for Culpepper.

You'd have to believe the team would have hit on a player with 1 of those picks.

Not really true. That would be assuming that everyone else in the top 10 basically lose out the remaining games. There are still a lot of battles to happen just in between the top 10 itself. For example Miami plays Cincy yet, KC plays the Jets, Cincy plays San Francisco, Miami plays the Ravens, Cincy plays the Rams.

I accounted for that. 2 wins would bring them to 5 which currently teams right up to 16th place currently have. At the very least I would think 2 wins would place New England no higher then 8th.

Did you account that San Francisco has a really low SOS? If San Fran had 5 wins right now, they would currently have the 11 selection. Add in the fact that the SOS won't change that much from now to the end of the year, that teams still have four games and in the past a team with 5 wins usually picks between 3-7, I highly doubt two wins will put them as low as 8. Two wins, and they probably have the #5 or #6 pick.

Don't understand what you are referring to. What is your question about the #2 overall pick?

I think you are mistaking the second pick for the pick that New England has to forfeit. Currently, the Patriots have the 2nd overall pick and the 32nd overall pick in the first round. The 32nd pick is THEIR pick, while they obtained the 2nd overall pick from the 49ers in a draft day trade last season.

The NFL is making the Patriots forfeit THEIR first round draft selection, which is currently slated as the #32 pick. As you can see in the rankings I put together, the first round only has 31 picks compared to the normal 32. All it means is that the draft is one pick shorter and they just skip the Patriots at the end of the first round. Pick 32 is usually the last pick of round 1, now it is the first pick of round 2.
