Mike had Kuech on and they obviously talked about the Hall of Fame. Kuech said how it's hard to judge guards because it's the only position in all of sports where there is no real statistical evidence or data to make a determination on that position. He then went on to say how he and several of his peers really can't stand Charlie Weiss. =D He said he was vulgar? ..anyway, Mike went on to ask him what he thinks should be one of the main reasons for him to go in and he said that he and Shula have won more games together than any other coach/lineman combo in NFL history with 151 wins...and of course the undefeated team thing.

Then after Kuech leaves Mike says who he thinks should definitely make it and who should not. He said NO to Kuech. I couldn't freakin' believe it. What a two face. It's a good thing he waited until Kuech left the building or Kuech probably would have made him where his a-- for a hat. :D

I've heard that too. Apparently, Weiss curses like a sailor. Touchdown Jesus would not approve!

I was born after many of the people in question had retired, but I find it kinda hard to believe that the Dolphins at three HOF quality interior linemen, a FB, plus Griese, WR, etc.

At a certain point, you've got someone who is "really good" surrounded by elite talent. I couldn't tell you it was Kuechenberg, but three interior linemen off of one team is too much.

It's hard to imagine today. But in the days before free agency, it was possible. I think that might hurt him though.

Being an All-Pro/Pro Bowler at left tackle and guard, dominating Alan Page in the Super Bowl (with a broken arm), earning an All-Pro nod while playing thru a broken back, and his longevity (196 games) speaks well for him.

I finally watched the "America's Game" series for the 72 and 73 fins. The 73 fins one really focused on Kuech (more of Mercury Morris though). There was about a ten minute segment about Kuech on the extras and I never knew much about him since he played before my time. They mentioned everything you wrote here and after watching it I'm baffled why he isn't in the hall yet.

Guy cant do an interview without taking shots at Weis, despite reports that he's never met him...maybe he isnt getting into the hall because he's dumb? :wink2:

Many people have talked bad about Charlie Weiss ever since he took over the University of Notre Dame.

It's Weis (that's aimed at everyone lol, not just you). And many ex-Alum have called Keuch an idiot for his opinions as well

That may be but when it comes to Charlie Weis, Keuch is saying what MANY have said before.

It's common knowledge that Weis is a prick and it donsn't make it any less of a truth if one of the ten people i've heard call him that is also one himself.

People have been calling Charlie a prick for years.

Warfield was a HOFer already based on his performance at Cleveland before he joined the 'phins. The rings he earned here were the icing on the cake. Any QB who has won two or more SBs has been inducted into the HoF, not to diminish Griese, but its hard to see him in the HOF without his two rings. Csonka's numbers speak for themselves.

If you look at game film from the early '70s 'phins you can see that the ineterior line was really special, probably the best interior line combo in NFL history. The precision and athleticism in trapping and pulling in particular is mind blowing.

We're talking about a team that went to three consecutive SBs, won 2 of them and were denied a 4th consecutive SB, and probable 3rd win only by one of the the greatest playoff QB games in the "Sea of Hands" game.

I've heard Shula say on several occassions that they had back-ups who were all-pro caliber players.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying he shouldnt be in. Just hard when a member of one favorite team constantly takes shots at my other team. It divides my soul lol. Im rooting for him to both get in, and to get over his hatred of Weis (or to at least shut up about it )

    What you mean is:

"He repeatedly shows remorse as his stupidity to this day hasn't stopped showing itself".

Main difference is, with Michael the Coke-head, Stripper addict people thinks its "Cute". With Kuech, he just says it like it is and people are offended....

    Kids these days... :pity:

why should he.. he's alum, he doesn't like Charlie's delivery, or what he has done/is doing to the ND program. As a "footbal" alum, he has earned the right to say he isn't happy with his Golden Domers. I have never discussed ND with Bob, but I have his brothers, sisters and Mom.. and they LOVE ND. I think it is Bob's unweildly version of tough love that we hear. I don't like Charlie either but hope he stays and keeps you guys from being relevant another couple years. I understand your loyalty, I have my own.. and for a program in more trouble than yours, but Don.. do you really like him.. or are you being loyal to the program? I love the U, but don't think "what clock" is our answer. For both squads, I think this year tells the story.

maybe if Urbaine Meyer wins another one he might consider a new challenge.. and if "I" was y'all, I'd be lighting candles in Church over that one.
