http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/02/05/terry-glenn-gets-busted/ I'm guessing this will close the door on him ever returning to the NFL, if his knees didn't make it questionable enough.
Maybe he started having flashbacks of parcells calling him a girl, so he tore his clothes off and started running around naked like some wasted girls do
Well that is the nail in the coffin. There is no way we are getting Terry Glenn. I would be suprised if he comes nback to the NFL. I think he retires.
It's a special bag that stores the smell of the weed inside so it doesn't stink up your car, room, pocket etc
First Terry and now Jamal. Jesus, I know I'm not famous or anything and no one really pays attention to me but there have been several times, and i do mean SEVERAL times, when I've been in possession of illegal drugs and have never once even been close to going to jail. (Note: I will not engage in any sort of debate about the right or wrong of using illegal drugs in this thread. That can be done elsewhere. I'm just pointing out that NFL players are dumb as hell sometimes)
You would think with the kind of money these guys have, they would at least be smart enough to hire an advisor of some sort to help them plan a little better. Even more than this, it is just sad that they are willing to give up what many would consider a dream job by carrying illegal substances around while traveling. How can they even be willing to take the risk of getting caught?
There's any number of reasons to carry the stuff around with you. I suffer from an anxiety disorder and self medicate with marijuana (again not trying to have a debate whether this is right or wrong) so at times it is imperative for me to carry it on me despite knowing the impending trouble that I'd be in if I get caught. But at the same time when I know I'm holding I also know not to do anything that might bring me into contact with the police. Again I'm not famous and no one is going to come up to me in the club and get in my face and what not (actually I don't go to clubs, see anxiety disorder) but still if you're gonna be riding dirty or in the club with the stuff you gotta know that you have to handle yourself in a way that is not going to get you in any trouble. And there is where the intelligence part comes in.
Trwoa, I empathize with your issues, and while I don't necessarily agree that ganga is the best way to combat those issues, I also don't begrudge you that method of relief...however, I think its pretty naive to think that, in Glenn's case he also has issues that include him carrying weed around for medicinal purposes...I am not 'certain' by any stretch that this is not the case for Glenn, but it's seemingly unlikely. As you said, you also don't have the notoriety and I assume do not also have a career that can be ended by this act either....(I do, however, have that issue as I work for a transportation company)...Using common sense seems to be the real issue with these guys, in general. They seem to think that they are held to different standards than most, which is at least annoying to those of us who already know that we don't have different standards of obeying the laws... We all say, when an issue like this comes up in the press, that "we'd handle this situation differently, especially if I had all that money !" But, even in your or my case, things can happen where a situation gets out of hand. It doesn't have to be at a club, it can be in your home or in the park...It's just not worth the chance that it may change your ability to earn a living whether you make $20,000 a year, $200,000 a year or $2 M a year. Some people say that Ricky was using for medicinal purposes...If that was indeed the case, look at what it got him...he lost several years of his career that may have kept him from being considered one of the more elite backs in the history of his profession, not to mention the money in potential contracts he didn't get. If you work in a profession that dictates you not use, you should either get out of that profession or stop using...there's too much to lose.
