I've always wanted to try to turn a picture of a regular person into a dark and grotesque work of art. I've looked at a few tutorials in the past and always put it off because of the work involved, but finally decided to give it a go. I didn't use any tuts on this one though. I took this picture And turned it into this Thoughts?
you ruined that perfectly good looking girl. i say you fail. actually, that is pretty neat, me next!! LOL
great work l2g. I think the only thing that bothers me is that hipline on our left hand side (her right). But that is nit picky. Excellent work.
Thanks all Hmm....her hip. 'cause it's a bit on the blurry side maybe? I hadn't noticed that, I was focused more on the wounds and jeans and trying to get it right that I really wasn't looking elsewhere. I know that I didn't want her whole torso to be cracked, I wanted part of it to look a bit bloated or rotted and that was the area I chose, but maybe I can sharpen it up a bit and see how it looks.
Maybe I am wrong, but it looked like you were going for kind of a chunk of her torso to be missing. I can see her hip outline even though it is the same color as the background. Thats what I was saying. Kind of hard to explain. Again, nitpicky on my end.
I think I see what you're talking about and that's just an artifact of the background and the position of her arm (which was right on her hip line). I used the pattern stamp to match it up and that "outline" that you see is part of the backdrop from another area. Then I made her stand out a bit from the background, so it kind of highlighted that area IMO. That part of her body was completely removed, so it can't be her actual hip line.
I like criticism though, I want to know what I can fix to make it better. ....then I'll tell 'em to go piss up a rope. lol Yeah maybe, but the people around me have known that for years. I'll take a roast beef on rye, no crust. If there's any crust you can make it over again....the right way.
Maybe, I was thinking of using celebrities and posting them here to see if people could recognize them. With players it wouldn't be that difficult to figure out with the jerseys.
Brushes? Not many, I think I only used a default soft brush and a spray paint brush. Most of the effects were done with stock photos and gradients with a little brushing here and there.
zombies are nothing to joke about. good job though I like it......... wouldn't mind seeing a wallpaper with some of the players like that.
the pope, an evil dictator, and a zombie walk into a bar..... Spoiler The evil dictator kills the pope and then commits suicide. A customer asks the bartender for another shot. The bartender points to the zombie and says, "thats the ugliest chick ive ever seen". The customer leans forward and whispers, "i think she's a dead zombie" ...and thats when he said, "don't tell her that, she might try to rape you".
Thanks, the wound itself was actually made using stock photos of peeling/cracked paint and pics of the skeletal system. Brushes were really only used for color. Here's an example of one of the stocks that I used to create "damage".
