How can you say WR trades dont work when you just mentioned TWO recent trades that worked out for the teams that got a WR. Moss, Chambers and dont forget...Welker.

He wants to play for a winner.. We arent a winner..

However, maybe Keyshawn could convince him that if he keeps his mouth shut, Parcells will turn this thing into a winner in no time.

we should sign keyshawn and trade for chad johnson. keyshawn is a great blocker and a chain mover.and with ginn and johnson working the outside would be something to see.im sure ronnie would love to have these guys setting up some blks downfield which is where he get caught most of the time..

    Thanks.
I didn't know he was so straight-forward about it. Afterthis, i'd really be suprised if they decide to hang onto him. Marvin Lewis said himself that they need to rebuild. Trading Johnson for a decent pick would help them in that area and clear some cap room. They'd also still have two very good receivers in TJ and Chris Henry.
Anyhow, here's the quotes I found most interesting...

I'd offer the first pick in the 3rd down.

Depending on whether or not we make enough moves in free agency to become a legit wild card contender or very close to it, I'd offer our late 2nd-rounder. Actually, I don't see the difference with our late-2nd and 3rd-rounder. They're going to be what, 5-8 picks apart?

They won't be far apart. As I said earlier, the Bengals are going to want at least as much as we got for Chambers. So the price will at least be the 2nd rounder we got, probably more.

Why not trade our second rounder we got from San Diego in return for Chad. That would essentially be the same as trading Chris Chambers for Chad Johnson, straight up. Anyone that wouldn't do that should get their head examined.

Trade Jason Taylor and our 3rd rounder for Chad Johnson and their 2nd rounder.

Why would they want JT? They're talking about rebuilding. They're not a playoff contender. If JT gets traded, it'll be to a team who thinks they're one or two players away from a good playoff run. Theres no other reason to give good value for a 33yr old player. Also, CJ has more value than JT, at least in my opinion. He's younger, cheaper, will be around longer, and is also one of the best at his position. The Bengals would never give that much for JT and a 3rd.

I have 2 answers for this

    1. Who cares? Ocho will care. The first time he doesn't get a ball thrown his way (wherever he ends up playing next year), you bet your backside he will be running his yap.

    2. We do have a QB, his name is John Beck. You might not have noticed him "lighting it up" because he didn't have any weapons at his disposal (Ronnie was injured, Chambers was gone, Ginn was misused, etc). Not to mention the fact that the offense was very bland when he was in there. So give the kid a chance to play with some talent around him before you guys rush to judgement.
