Like he was in 2007, when he helped us barely scrape out one victory? The only thing about Jason Taylor that is huge is his ego.

We need to win games, and we need team players to accomplish that. Jason Taylor doesn't fall anywhere near that category.

Also... I don't 'hate' Jason Taylor. I just have very little respect for him. I long for the day he signs with someone else, so I can rest assured that the front office is more concerned with winning football games than selling calendars.

I believe they went there to try and show Taylor they wanted him on the team. They put the olive branch out there and Taylor spit on it.

Out of that whole post...that is what you reply with...:tongue2:

You may not fit the description on the Haters and the job...but don't think for a second that envy does not fit for most of the haters.

I agree with Larry, you're taking a situation that is based purely on football and trying to rationalize our opinion and making assumptions because we don't agree with you. It has nothing to do with whether or not people like their jobs or envy, it has to do with commitment and dedication, environment and chemistry, wanting to be a part of a group and help make the situation better. Jason Taylor didn't want that, he didn't want to help right the ship. Instead Jason saw the ship sinking and pushed his way past the women and children to get to a life raft, I'm sure that didn't endear him to the Tuna. :wink2:

I think it is. The guy wanted no part of this team and forced his way out of town, therefore as the ship was sinking he did what he needed to do to save his own ***.

It is so easy for people to think they KNOW what goes on behind closed doors...

Funny thing is that when Dolphin Players...not some little fan on a board, thinks about JT. They say things like "Great Leader, Hard Worker, etc..."

I will go with the majority of players 100% of the time, when it comes to what a player means to a team. Over some envy infested fan posting on some internet forum.

I bet some of you still hold a grudge vs. the 1st chic that dumped you. Chances are she will not be the last by a long shot. Envy is so easy to spot amongst the less fortunate ones in this world. I wish everyone had a great life...it is just not that way.

Anyone that has the feeling that JT is a cancer, selfish player, etc...is just fooling themselves.

Selfish is the act of watching someone give 100% for 10+ years, then decides that want that he wants the one thing he started to play the game for...a SUPERBOWL RING more than just playing the game and making millions. Then bashing that player and his character for what happened in one offseason, after the worst season in the history of franchise. JT stayed for years with the team making major FO changes, year after year...He was not willing to risk BP just being another lost cause and his chance to get a ring.

If a player can give 10+ years of outstanding play and leadership only to treated like a TO type play...then really who gives a $hit. Every player should be selfish to the 10th power, if that was the case.

no one could have predicted what our team did this year.....and imo we benefited from a cake schedule....next year we are back to 8 wins i believe....hes at the twilight of his career....he wanted to get traded to another team for a shot at a ring....i dont think he did whatever he could have to save his own ***......washington isnt exactly a guarentee champion, he played for them....i think you dissing others bad comparisons and then saying he pushed children and women outve the way to survive is kinda ridiculous.....jmo tho

First of all; the word "hater" has become this pervasive, all encompassing, (and at the same time) meaningless term.
Secondly, can you provide some sort of measurable proof that most of the people who you're referring to as haters are actually "haters" because they're envious?
IMO what is closer to the truth is that both sides are reacting as loyal fans, nothing more.
A great amount of fans live vicariously through the team they support - hence the "we"s and "us"s when referring to the team.
The anti JT camp feel that he turned his back on the team (and us) when he was needed. He was getting face time on tv when, if his priority was football, he should have been in camp getting familiar with the new coaches, new defense, new philosophy, etc. In fact he seemingly, avoided football all together until he was traded to Washington. At that time he was once again excited about playing and changed his mind about "one more year".
Nothing to do with envy, whatsoever. It's more to do with feeling betrayed.
Argue all you wish about the business side of the NFL. But we as fans, still have the luxury of feeling that loyalty to our team.

I disagree. Is it selfish in it only benefits him, maybe, assuming it didn't have any benefit for his wife or family, etc. But lets not forget a business, which is an entity will cut a player for performance, not because it benefits the other players or little billy down the street, but because it benefits the business. So in so far as a business as an entity its move to is selfish.

A ship that was sinking for a couple of years, which he stayed on...............

There is a difference between loyalty, and stupidity. You try to remedy the situation, but after awhile, you cross the line between loyalty and stupidity.

yeah how many 4-12, 1-15, 6-10 crappy seasons and headcoaches, and d-coordinators does someone need to go through to not be seen as anything but LOYAL even after he jumps ship?! its ridiculous he gets no credit for staying strong during so many **** seasons

Agree to disagree, I think trying to make things personal and insulting people with whom you disagree is a whole lot different than making an analogy based on facts.

Washington was a better situation than what we had and they were considered a playoff caliber team, I think JT settled on Washington because no other playoff caliber team was willing to pay his salary and send us an appropriate draft pick, it was either stay here or go to the Skins. His choice, he made it and now he doesn't fit on our team.

We all thought that Jason and Joey were going to be a dominant force and it didn't happen because they both play the same position and neither one is a true SOLB. So if we were to bring Jason back to Miami one of them would need to become a situational player. Porter was arguably the heart of our defense last year, do we bump him to backup duty? Do we pay Jason a hefty contract (remember he doesn't want to take a pay cut) to be a situational player? He doesn't fit, he burned some bridges and we need to look to the future.

    No thanks

Wrong...it has everything to do with envy, fans taking it personally that he wanted a ring and thought his best chance was to get it with another team.

This will be like beating a dead horse with you and some others. We all believe what we think is true and straight. Chances are we both are correct to a certain extent.

Are you the women & children? Did he hurt your feelings? Do you secretly hold a grudge and wish him bad things?

It would seem so, based on the above bold post line...

It is amazing what you can tell about someone just from reading their post...

Your Username...speaks loud volume to those that make money by reading others. Look as I say this it is not an ATTACK on you...simply reading you the only way I can...on here in this forum.

"Like2God" is just your subconsciousness reaching out. We all have issues...me as well. But on the JT issue...I think you are hurting and feel betrayed because the business side of the game played with your emotions. If you are remembered by others for the actions of ONE ACT...then just try to make sure your last act is a good one.

Someone mentioned it earlier, Parcells has a question that he asks players during interviews, he asks them to name the 3 most important things in their life and if football isn't at the top, he crosses them off the list. After the way Taylor handled himself last offseason and refused to join his teammates (remember they were still his teammates at the time) in mandatory practices/workouts, I don't see Parcells bringing him back even if he did fit on this team.

well I never said he didn't have other ambitions or bp would want him back, but either way it doesn't make him a bad person or disloyal for what he did last offseason. Not at all. If anything it makes him human.

It doesn't make him a bad person, but when you look at what we're trying to accomplish here and the tone that we are trying to set, Jason's desire to split when we needed leadership doesn't gel. He was looking out for himself and we are trying to build some chemistry, not a good fit IMO.

Parcells is a winner who has the respect of his peers and players, both past and present. If Parcells didn't fit what Jason wanted, then I have to question just what exactly Jason is looking for?

    I agree with you sick.
I listened to the interviews etc. when he left and he never cut the Dolphins or his team mates once. I never got the impression he was anything but a good person and a great ball player.
I'd love to see him (and Zach) in a Dolphins uni any time.

honestly....having met people close to the team working with wqam in miami....jason was probably being a cry baby....and was pissed because tuna had a issue with the DWTS thing....jason prolly said "ive been here over a decade......who cares if i do this in the offseason" and tuna was like "i dont give a damn whether your a rookie or vince lombardi....if u wanna play for the dolphins you'll be here" and taylor was stubborn.....but i dont think he should be bashed and called unloyal....but thats me bro

But, still Kev, why all the hate towards him?
He's a human being and whether he made good or bad choices, he's still just like most of us. He just happens to be pushed into the spot light, unlike us.
Tony liked him, respected him and never had a bad thing to say. Neither did JT about the new staff.
I just don't like all the dis-like aimed at him constantly.

And according to Ireland we're still a rebuilding team and we'll be following last years plan this offseason, so Jason isn't going to like it here anyway.

This is why this argument fell lame with me. If Jason Taylor wanted to win a SB ring then who better to be partnered with than Parcells ??? He has a proven track record.

Well like I said, IMO he was only looking out for himself and didn't want to be a part of the solution. He had been hinting at retirement for a while and his DWTS gig was a slap in the face when the rest of his teammates were sweating under the South Florida sun, to me that's being disloyal to his team. JMO though :wink2:

I don't think it's hate Deb, it's more not wanting to bring in a player who would upset the system that we have in place. Taylor isn't going to come cheap, he more than likely doesn't want a reduce role and he really doesn't have a position with Porter on the team. Parcells likes his players dedicated and loyal, Jason was neither of those last offseason. :wink2:

Yes because he picked the very time when he was needed most and his presence as a veteran leader could have been the most useful for the Dolphins franchise in the future.

Sister Debby, I love the Dolphins, not like, but LOVE the Dolphins, and Jason Taylor made me feel like a jilted lover. That causes some bitterness that I cannot seem to shake, because I so very much was a HUGE Taylor fan. I feel like he dissed me and I take that personally :wink2: That is probably irrational, but being a football fanatic is irrational too
