http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pl...news.asp?sport=NFL&id=3284&line=138517&spln=1 A duh...... I think we knew that.
Some of the responses on the PFT chat part are pretty funny: "I know “one of the knocks against Crowder” was Matt Light’s fists!" "Crowder laughed at Matt Light, have you ever seen Crowder. He’s a thug, Matt Light wouldn’t stand a chance".
i believe the tag is going to Carey, even though I wouldnt be surprised if they brought in some competition for him.
There is actually just one tag for all offensive linemen which is kind of stupid. The same for safeties. There is no distinction between left or right tackle, or free and strong safety.
Anyone that thinks Carey is getting tagged needs to look at what that price was last year. 7.4M, that price is going to go up and Carey is no where near worth that.
I don't think it would be that unreasonable to tag him. if you can't reach a long term deal (and no one else on the market interests you), tag him and then find someone to groom in the draft. You let that guy sit a year and then if Carey excels maybe you can work a long term deal out, if not, you let him walk and have a more experienced player to take his place.
I think if thats the plan you offer him a 1 year deal for 5M guaranteed. The tag for OL is likely to hit 8M or close to it
If anyone I say tag Bell. But, he will probably get a deal, so then we won't use the tag, how is that?
Actually teh tag for Bell isnt that bad especially when his agent has been talking about 3 year 15M deal. I think the Tag for Safety was a little over 4M
Interesting, the article title says 'We won't' and the body says that we are 'not expected' to use the tag on Crowder...can't they decide which it is ???
