I think this assumption comes from the idea that teams don't put great players on the market for a cheap price unless there was some type of issue there.
actually he quite dancing because he didnt get in the endzone. the next time he got in the endzone he celebrated (via camera)
He wants a new contract and Cincy is known for being cheap, so if they can pick up a 3rd for the guy and save millions in the process, they may go for it. I really don't want C Johnson in miami, he won't have any real effect for us for 2 yrs...
Hey, I would love to have ocho cinco here. He is undoubtedly a great talent but I can't see it happening.
i don't see this trade happening for a couple of obvious reasons, one, chad is a legit number one in the nfl, giving him up for a third would be ridiculous on their part, also giving him up would be a PR nightmare, Chad is a great guy who loves the game, he puts people in the seats, he moves merchandise, it would be MORONIC from their standpoint not to sign him and ever more stupid letting him go for a third, this is not a randy moss situation where we can get a troubled player on the cheap
I like the idea of getting Chad, as he would have to be accounted for by the defense the first time he stepped on the field. He won't put up the numbers he has with Palmer, at least till/unless Beck develops some chemistry with him. Is that what you meant by no effect for 2 years? I don't think it takes that long, no more than half a season really. The first pick of the third round, now that the first day is only the first and second rounds, is more valuable than ever. As was mentioned, teams can stew overnight about a player they want that slipped out of the second round, and be CERTAIN to get him with a trade up. It won't really cost much more than a fourth rounder to do it too (unless a team is near the end of round three). Small price for a player a team really wants. As for a big contract? Cut Marty Booker and that's 4 mil off the cap, easily enough to upgrade to Johnson. I see it as a win-win for both the Bengals and Phins. Oh, I'll be mildly surprised if this trade happens though...
Cincinnati may be cheap, but what would just dumping Johnson because he wants a new contract say to their fan base? Now if his request for a new contract becomes a media circus to the detriment of the team, then we're probably back to square one of him being more of a pain in the *** then he may be worth.
I would make this trade in a heartbeat if we could trade down at #1. I think we have too many holes to fill otherwise, and it's not like we are a player or two away from making some serious noise anyway. We need draft picks, and if JT and/ or Zack asked to be traded, I would do my best to honor their request as long as it was reasonable. Steve
we can easily get CJ for a 3rd....WHO WOULDNT trade a 3rd for CJ??? do u guys think its possible to grab Moss away from the Patriots too? Imagine that....CJ and Moss, now that is gonna be a threat.
Roy is younger, he hasn't maxed out his talent. He hasn't really developed the finer nuances of the game. Cheaper? The price is the same.
the first pick in the fourth round is the first pick in the 2nd day. EDIT: forgot the changes, my bad
Look at Chambers playing for a team that actually has an offense. If he Carson Palmer and the Bengals offense or even the SD offense for the last 7 years they would probably look a little more like Chad. Watching Chambers play for the Chargers the last couple of weeks has made me realize that he's got talent it's just we don't have the talent to get him the ball. Same thing with Wes Welker.
Not anymore. Only the first two rounds are first day now, the start of the 3rd happens on the 2nd day. They changed it this year. ***EDIT*** And you changed it as I posted lol.
Can we throw Hagan at them as well in the trade? That way we can keep our 3rd and trade a player who IMO is overrated and hasnt lived up to expectations and Cinci gets a WR back.
Hes 29 and Miami area is his home and hes already All-Pro so hes done that. If Tuna can do his magic we can get our team turned around in a 2-3 seasons. Johnson will still be on the team and he will be winning games which is what he wants. Who knows. Irving Fryar didnt do too bad here after NE.
took u the last 2-3 weeks to figure that out? lmaoo buddy where have you been? I saw his talent when he came out his rookie year with FIEDLER throwing him the ball. You put any of our top guys on a team with good talent and they become HOF'ers. ZT, JT, Surtain, and Madison helped cover up how bad of a team and organization we had been since about 93-94. They were soo good that they didnt allow the truth leak out but once they started to decline in talent, age, and move on from this team u saw the weaknesses more and more. when you have 2 shut down corners and a good D obviously you will win games and look decent.
Cant argue with that. Doesnt say much for him when he was supposed to be our No2 WR going into this season. If we get Johnson i will sleep better going into next season.
