Its difficult to do it more than once when he's been the number one only once.

I wonder if McNabb realizes that if you lose in the playoffs you go home. :chuckle:

Also I believe ESPN may now be on suicide watch with the Cards almost in the SB.

He only had 1 season without Fitz.

No but it was expected. Watching him at Pittsburgh, you could see what he was capable of doing.

NE yes. I think it was the NFL Network with Dallas. I remember the night Miami beat the Jets for the playoffs but the whole coverage on NFLN was about the Eagles and Dallas game. :pity:

He was the only guy I could think of too. He's the most underrated TE in the League. I think he had two straight 60 catch seasons. But very few TD.

Bottom line, if Andre Johnson plays in Arizona, Indy, NE (passing attacks with other talent around him) he is considered the best in the NFL. But because he's stuck in Houston playing Shaub/Rosenfelds (SP??) nobody pays attention. He had 115 catches, 1500+ yards and 8 TD with dbl coverage EVERY play.

Wow. Some serious praise there. Larry Fitzgerald is great. He might be the best WR in the game right now, but I think this guy might have something to say about who is "en route to becoming the best ever."

I knew nothing about Rogers so I can't comment on him. What I'm saying is that Larry Fitzgerald was going to be a top-tier wide receiver in this league for a long time and you could see that watching him at Pittsburgh.

    That's true.

I don't remember Mike Williams doing much other than jump balls and fade routes. Then again, I never watched much of him.

I love Randy Moss but if that man gave 100% on every down, he would be the best thing I've ever seen. I still think he's the greatest talent to ever step foot on a football field. Its pretty damn ridiculous though how he doesn't go all out every game and he still has defensive coordinators having sleepless nights.

Nice argument but Fitz has Kurt Warner who would be nothing special in an offense without Fitz and Boldin (basically I am saying he is a Schaub/Rosenfels equivalent). Put Fitz on an offense with Brady or Manning and his numbers would be even better. Still trumping the numbers Johnson would have in that same situation. Fitz makes his mediocre QB look spectacular and like your argument says Johnson doesn't have that same effect.

    Also we have a game.

A little tighter now with the TD. And to think I almost had the cajones to take the money line on the Cardinals. I didn't want to press it after winning a 3 game parlay on College Basketball earlier.

The Eagles are still very much in this game. That missed 47 yd FG could be big.

    That doesn't even make sense...

Fitz is in a much better offense with more talent around him, and faces single coverage most of the game. His numbers are worse then the guy who has less to work with, faces dbl coverage every play.

So how can Fitz do better the Johnson in the same situation? Sorry, not happening.

Ah, I think that's blown out of proportion mainly because Randy gets quoted out of context and doesn't know when to shut his mouth when he speaks to the media.

What do we consider giving 100%? Looks to me like he's giving effort out there on the field. Maybe when he was playing with the Raiders you could question his effort a bit, but when you're in a whole like that it happens. Hell we have people here questioning an all effort guy like Jason Taylor while playing a season with a poor team. It happens.

I know this when he's on the field, he's the best I've ever seen. Jerry Rice was great because of his longevity. But the best WR I've ever seen is Randy Moss. Fitzgerald is great, but I've never seen a guy blow by people with ease like Randy, go up and get the ball like Randy, make spectacular catches like Randy, go over the middle like Randy, everything...He's unbelievable. Am I a little biased becaues I'm a Marshall fan--maybe. But I haven't found many to argue my belief either.

I hope the Eagles sink the Cardinals chances with dawkins grabbing a pick six or Jackson burning the entire Cards D for 6. Awwww yeah.

Hmm. Where did you get your line? I'm a Bodog guy and the last line I saw was Arizona +4, I even saw it as high as +4.5 today. In that scenario Arizona losing by 3 would be great!

Makes perfect sense to me as I think they are both in similar offenses. I think Schaub is about the same as Warner and Fitz makes Warner look better whereas Johnson doesn't do the same for Schaub. So make Warner into Manning/Brady and Fitz's numbers will climb even higher than they are now, give Johnson those QBs and his numbers climb but will still be below Fitz as I see them improving at about the same level. Fitz is just better to me.

What I consider not giving 100% is when I see him jogging on a route or I see him failing to run a simple slant to the best of his ability. Hey, I sit here and I still have flashbacks of him making one handed grabs over the middle against the Arizona Cardinals. I still see him making those plays against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving day. I remember him being miked up and saying "Give me the damn ball, golly!" or "I'm a freak of nature man!" I remember all of that and that was the Randy Moss, the Vikings one, that went out there and would absolutely frighten the daylights out of you. There was no way to cover him, none. He's still very difficult to cover but he doesn't have that spark anymore.

    I'm right there with you.

He's the most incredible talent I've seen. I haven't been watching football decades like some others but from what I've seen, none compares.

Anyone who watched the Steelers-NE game this year could see late in the game how Moss just gave up and pouted. That's why I have always liked Welker...because he never quits.

I don't know who I'm rooting for. I thought the Cardinals would win and still believe they will. However, I've always been a Donovan McNabb fan and I would love to see him win a Super Bowl then tell Philly "see ya"--as long as he stays out of the AFC East.

Here the Eagles come--can I retract my who I believe will win statement?

    It's due to locality.

If it weren't for this message board I'd hear way more about the eagles than the phins. The internet has allowed me to watch games, find fans.. it's a wonderful thing to be amongst phin fans but now that they're not in it I'm rooting for the birds all the way.

Who needs Fitzgerald or Boldin when you have Warner with the ability to throw the ball and catch it himself....look at that YAC he just got.
