Getting a number one receiver at first sounds great because this team needs a big dominating number one wideout. But an aging TO isn't the answer here. I'm not even a Dallas fan, or Philly fan, or Niners Fan, but he breaks teams apart. His continuous demanding of the ball destroys offenses. Whatever his name is on First down on ESPN who calls him Team Obliterator is right on. I would rather trade Arizona for Boldin opposite Ginn. Boldin keeps his mouth shut and is a beast of a wideout. And I highly doubt that happens as well.
Thats what i kept thinking. When you wrote it i couldn't help but start laughing. I guess this crap report only served one purpose, a large majority of thephins.com members would not like to see TO in Miami.
SNL should steal this this rumor and make a skit about it........thats how foolish this Rumor is........
Drew speaks. This should put an end to these silly rumors. http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/f...rosenhaus-to-wqum-owens-is-not-going-anywhere Or maybe not. I just realized they put WQUM 560 instead of WQAM.
Don't all these off-season rumors just make your day Mary? Most of them are funny, but some are down right dumb. How you doing, my friend?
For us to get Team Obliterator from the Cowboys, they would have to give us TO, Canty, and Ware to make it even. Then I would do it.
Id wager both testicles that we would not give up ANYTHING for TO. We wouldnt sign him from FA, let alone physically give something up for him. I dont think any team would at this point.
Go figure. He kept his mouth shut until this last game. I still think its water under the bridge though. Warner also went up to Haley a few times and said things, maybe not as heated but you could tell he had words during their weak third quarter.
For some reason, Miami is always mentioned as a possibility whenever the T.O. trade winds start blowing. It just doesn't make any sense. I don't see us giving up any value to the Cowboys to acquire an aging (albeit extremely talented, productive WR) who has been developing consistency problems and tends to pollute the locker room. Our FO is not into this.
I take TO in and never look back what the guy needs is to be the center of attention. He did pretty good in dallas till romo friend started getting more passes his way so he felt betrayed the guy just likes to win and is not a good person when it comes to losing. When parcel was around he didnt open his mouth that much either maybe he could keep him in check.
The sad thing is that Whitten wasn't getting more passes, TO was. TO was still averaging about two targets per game more than anybody else on the team. And sure he likes to win, who doesn't? The problem was that when they started to lose it was everybody else's fault. TO would never consider that his not getting open and dropping passes was part of the problem. He's the kind of guy you bring in if you want to stretch a two game losing streak to four but still be on Sportscenter all the time. I doubt we would ever bring in a guy at WR who needs to be the center of attention. How happy would he be in an offense that has a different star every week?
Pacman and Vick are or will be FAs as well...let's grab them too...maybe we should throw our higher 2nd rounder in to ensure we get Vick from Atlanta... Can you imagine that team...part of the All-Hoosegow team... TO, Ocho-Cinco, Vick, Pacman, Favre, Jeramy Stevens...maybe some old timers, like Rae Carruth, That center that went AWOL the night before the SB some years back...maybe Conrad Dobler...It could be fun...
The only reason I can think of is that Drew Rosenhaus is TO's agent, and of course Rosenhaus is from Miami, and has quite a few Dolphins clients....but still that is no real reason and its just some dumb media speculation I believe.
Serg..forget the fact that he's TO...do you really trade for a 35 yr old WR who has a lot of miles on him ?? And, if the 'Boys gave him a big extension this past season, it's unlikely they'd trade him now due to the accelerated cap hit of the signing bonus. But back to my original question, would you really trade for any 35 yr old player at this point ?? Isn't that why they dumped Zach and JT...certainly not because of their production ?? Add in the fact that he has destroyed team chemistry wherever he's been and I can't think of a single good reason for making this move...We have our guys that go over the middle in Camerillo and Bess. We have our burner in Ginn...Now, this group will never be mistaken for Rice and Taylor or Swann and Stallworth or the Marks brothers...but other FAs and the draft make much more sense as a recourse for us than going after "The Player"...
TO is the greatest ever in the whole world... praise him, and we should definitely sign him. he will take us to the glory land... he will lead the way for all, he will help all of our youngens develop and learn how to be in the NFL, how bring a team together.... he will bake rice cakes so delicious for all
