Per PFT. They've trimmed from seven to five, and Bowles isn't among them. That leaves Detroit and St. Louis.
Who could really want Jason garrett at this point? If this season didn't expose him and Phillips, nothing will.
I'm a little surprised that Garrett is interviewing. Didn't he turn down opportunities to interview last year because he is the heir appearant to the Cowboys job?
Ofcourse he is, Bill Romanowski will be their next head coach. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&line=137592
Im happy with this news... Sucks for Bowles, but its great for us. Continuity in schemes and coaching has been severely lacking over the years around here. Itd be nice to go into one offseason, then start the next season with the same staff for once.
Bowles managed to make Andre Goodman look like Champ Bailey at times and Will Allen actually got more than 2 picks with his stone hands. One more miracle like that (turning Jason Allen into a good CB?) and I'll contact the Vatican.
This is great news for us. I always rave about this guy. You could see the obvious improvements with our secondary from the first half of the season to the second half. He really turned chicken s--- into chicken salad. Great news!
Honestly I don't expect him to land any of the jobs just yet. My hope is that he'll be back this year, which will probably be his last. He'll either land a coordinator job or a head coaching job thereafter.
Great, not that I don't want to see guys progress in their profession, but finish the job here first, then think about moving on.... As they say....one down, two to go...
Just dont forget..............just because he doesnt get a Head Coaching position, doesnt mean he wont be offered a higher position than he has now, with one of the new staffs. It aint over till its over!
Unless his contract is expired, we don't have to let him leave for a coordinator's job. I think that's how the slash assistant head coach designation protects us.
I hope he doesnt go just yet. Hes doing a great job out there with the secondary. Good guy though, he will definately get his shot soon, I hope he goes on to great success where it may be ... as long as its not Buffalo, NYJ or Pats!
I wouldn't bet the house on Bowles not landing a Head Coaching job just yet Muck, the Lions have delayed making a HC decision until...February...all the top guys will be gone, leaving only a leftover for a coaching pick... And Lions Front Office wonk Martin Mayhew was a teammate of Todd Bowles on the Redskins..
