My comparison of the fallout 3 vs. fallout 1 and 2 endings (fallout 2 spoilers below...it's 14 years old, but still) what irritated me wasn't the length, or how they did the ending, but the lack of how tailored it as. At the end of Fallout 2 the ending was presented in the same manner, but it was tailored to your journey. Instead of a "good or bad" ending, it was town specific. You could get mixed results. If you didn't optimize the reactor for Vault City they would raid the peaceful ghouls and destroy their town...so you got a bad result for that city. If you slept with the don's daughter or wife you might get an ending saying that they had a kid, etc. It was cool and more indepth than just a good guy or bad guy. Honestly I play it a bit of both. I turn some slaves in, rescue others, whatever I feel like lol. Just thought that little touch was missing.
While I haven't beaten 3 yet (close, but COD5 is taking up my time these days - I'll go back, I always do), I know exactly what you mean about FO2's ending. Sad to hear about 3's.
Just beat it... I have to say, that's one hell of a game. Jeez. Talk about a ****ing adventure. Spoiler Ok I don't know where to start. When I went to Vault 87, I befriended an intelligent talking mutant named Fawkes. He was awesome and helped me get the GECK. I was then captured by the Enclave. I used speech into talking the president to kill himself and dismember the Enclave. When trying escape, my mutant friend Fawkes saved me. Now with a permanent party member (Fawkes), I went back the Brotherhood's Citadel, and together we attacked the Water Purifier. The Brotherhood unleashed that awesome giant robot. VERY cool quest/mission. We go in and I see the last guy, Colonel Somethingorother (begins with an "A" I think). I use my wicked speech skills (100) to help him understand that what he's doing is also wrong. He backs down. Now someone has to risk their life to turn on the water purifier. I decide to do it myself. I didn't know the freaking code. So read through quest logs and saw that bible scripture 2:16... Gave it a try and it worked.I died. Cool ending, it was a little catered to me. Mentioned stuff I did early on. Over all, I loved Fallout3. Fantastic game... So long as you remember it's an adventure RPG, not a shooter.
Yeah, allowing you to explore the open world after it's over wou;d have been appreciated. Still, an amazing experience.
great game finally finished it and I have to say the climax was outstanding..the ending was a little on the Meh side but I liked it.
just beat it yesterday as well. I'm a little angry that I left the bobble head in Ravenrock though. I can't find a way back in to get it.
ya me 2 and its a good bobble head ...tell you what Stealthboy + a115 (?) Pulse Rifle = a lot of dead guys.
I know I'm late to the party but I got this for Christmas and myself as well as a few of my friends are just now getting into the meat of this game - it's an amazing game!! Don't know why I waited so long to try it - Anyhow - a friend of mine found this on Youtube and it cracks me up everytime I see it... May be Germans... The 3rd piece of downloadable content is supposed to pick up rom the end... Spoiler Don't know how in the hell it can do that since you died from rad poisioning?!? ...increase the level cap and let you explore the world more. I need a break anyway since my game was 126 hours long. Fallout 3 was my game of the year.
I am late to this party also, I am in the begining still but my question is..... Did you blow-up megaton city?
I'm going to do the same except this time I'm going to be a girl and my name will be Ninja *****. As far as Megaton - I thought about this one for a long while. I havent done much of the main quest - the side quests have been keeping me busy plus I'm having a lot of fun exploring and earning XP. Anyway - I held off on blowing up Megaton saying to myself once I complete the quests tied to it - then I'll blow it up. Well starting the Wasteland Survival has given me the chance to meet lots of different characters, tying up my time in the process. Realizing that it was going to take me a long while to have all those quests completed - I decided to difuse the bomb so I can get the house and continue all the side quests. I'm going to attempt to complete the game 100% - I can;t get enough of it.
Well I decided not to destroy megaton city, but unfortunatly my actions (or inaction) caused the death of somone ...................I did take his hat though.
I love the combat shotgun. Whenever you get a chance snatch and don't look back. Pop their heads off.
i maxed out small guns (100) and used the Combat Shotgun - closer range head shots and mopped the floor with bad guys
Getting really tired of Jericho and his smartass remarks everytime I pass him in Megaton - getting ready to pump him full of lead. I'm serious. At first it was a funny but now it's pissing me off - what are the repercussions if I do this? I have good karma.
Thanks - going to take it to 90 and get the bobblehead. I love the combat shotgun too. It's even sweeter when you have the Bloody Mess perk. The explosions are way over the top.
just bought fallout online and chose store pickup. waiting for the email from BB to say i can go pick it up tonight. then, once the BCS game is over, its go-time. EDIT: awesome. simply awesome. it sucks that its 230 am now and i'll be tired for work. but hey, well worth it so far :-D
I have a question... I am doing the quest to help the little boy find his dad and stop the fire breathing ants, does anyone know where to find the queen or the other ant hideouts?
You have to go down into the Marigold Train Station and talk to dr lesko first - then from there u can get to a door that leads to the hatchery.
Spoiler I lied and told him that I killed the guardian ants before I really did. As much grief as those ants caused me earlier in the game I felt he deserved it.
Then the Door is what I can't find , I talked to the doctor but from there I couldn't figure out where to go.
There's another room adjacent to the room where dr lesko is (IIRC). You gott go through that room. When you talked to him - did you just walk back out of the door u came in from?
