Seeing as the Marlins will be using Dolphin Stadium on Sunday, September 13th (which would be the opening Sunday).

Based on the Marlins schedule, our September schedule should be...

    Week 1: Away
    Week 2: Home
    Week 3: Away

I don't really have anything else to add. Just thought you guys and girls might like to know

    Nice work detective

At this point I really don't mind opening on the road, last year we were at home and it didn't work out too good. I hope it's our west coast game against the Chargers, I'd like to go ahead and get that one out of the way, that way, our west coast trips will be over with. Plus FFIC will be able to enjoy opening day.

I don't think so. Labor day is September 7th, and the NFL doesn't usually start their season until after Labor Day.

I don't think it is. The 7th is Labor day, and about 5-10 years ago the NFL made the conscious decision to start its season the week after since they weren't getting good ratings for opening day during the holiday weekend.

Yes, Labor Day night has been a college football game on ESPN, NOT Monday Night Football for a number of years now.

It wasn't just the Monday night game that informed their decision, but the Sunday games as well. Because a lot of people go away that weekend, their viewership for opening day wasn't what they wanted, especially since they were looking to make a production out of opening day weekend.

Week 1 of the NFL season, Sunday wise, is September 13th.

Maybe the Dolphins will have the honor of facing Brady in his return game in Foxboro.

That or maybe Miami will get a Monday Night home game to start the season? Are the Marlins home that Monday as well?

I was thinking about that. The Marlins are away that Monday, but I'm not sure how much time it takes to change the field over.

Take it for what its worth, it is Wiki, but Wiki has the season starting September 10th (which would be the usual Thursday game) and it finishing on Sunday January 3rd.

beermedaddy, the regular season has gone into January before. It will go into January in the 2009 season. Playoffs will start January 9th.

For the last few years the Phins have been getting screwed out of one aspect of our home field advantage, that of the super hot humid weather in September. Yet we will have to play on the road in the dead of winter in Buffalo, NY, NE, etc.

If Wayne sells the team, can Ross kick the Marlins out of our stadium once and for all? Wayne should take the money from the Phins sale and build them their own place, get out of Dolphin stadium already!!

Do you still think Wayne owns the Marlins ? Dude he sold them in 1998......two owners ago.

The Marlins should be out in 2012, but not until then. Long story short. The stadium has been approved the money is in place, all we are waiting for is the final plans.

When we have to tailgate on a budget and it's a 1:00 game, the best thing is to do a breakfast. Eggs, bacon, hash browns biscuits are all cheap. We'll do bfast sandwiches and are done cooking and cleaned up by 11:00, all for under $20.00. Damn, I just went Martha Stewart on you :wink2:
