Just saw this: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9023446/'Wildcat'-offense-has-rejuvenated-Brown's-career
While the Wildcat has allowed us to utilize Ronnie more in the running game. He was having an outstanding season last year before the injury. I don't think it rejuvenated his career. He has been very solid for the Dolphins, who happened to have VERY BAD TEAMS.
The media is too focused on the Wildcat. They act like it's the base package in our offense. We run it 4 times a game for crying out loud. Further, Ronnie didn't need a rejuvenation. He led the NFL in yards from scrimmage before suffering an ACL tear last year. Man, the media is lazy.
what an asswipe thing to say. this article was obviously written by someone who didnt watch Ronnie at all previous to this year. And he probably hasnt watched him this year either. I'm getting very tired of all this gimmick offense talk. Just because we take advantage of overaggressive defenses, does not mean its a gimmick. It's power football, get used to it. Playaction passing does the same thing. Not a gimmick, a weapon!
Totally. All Ronnie needed was 16 healthy games. Imagine how awesome he'll be next year, 20 months after ACL surgery.
It is annoying to hear the media and other teams' fans call our entire offense a gimmick. But you know what, who cares? Does it work? Do we put points on the board? Often times the answer to those questions is yes. So call it what you want. It works and that is the bottom line. As far as Ronnie, go ask Bill Bellichick or any AFC East coach about Ronnie Brown. I guarantee they will tell you Ronnie has been a beast for at least a few years.
Bingo. You wanna act like Calvin Pace, and call us a gimmick offense? Okay with me, as long as you're making those comments in the losers' locker room.
What an ignorant statement .Ronnie Brown was and still is a top 5 RB in the NFL. The wildcat just goes to further prove how talented he is .Not many RBs can pull that off .
and yet every fan of another team thinks their team has a guy who can run it better. It's ridiculous.
That article is a complete joke. Its sad really, that so many football fans will read that piece, and actually believe it to be the truth that without the Wildcat, Ronnie isnt worth of his draft position... for crying out loud... the guy was dominating the league last year in total yards from scrimmage WITHOUT the wildcat... however thats conveniently overlooked in this great piece of "journalism" What a joke.
I'm getting sick of hearing about the Wildcat. The media acts like that's the only offensive formation the Dolphins run.
I don't agree with the title that his Wildcat rejuvenated his career but do you believe that he was worth is draft position? How is he a top five back? This is his first full year healthy and he's cracked the 1000 mark once (1,006).
the wildcat did not Rejuvenate Brown's career. I think Ricky Williams did as Brown's work load is lighter... The Wildcat did infact Rejuvenate the Miami Dolphins season...
I don't think any RB is worth the #2 pick, but I love Ronnie as a phin. Also, Ronnie IS a top 5 back. Our interior line is pretty sucky. If Ronnie is in Minnesota he would put AP numbers up, IMO.
Agreed. What makes you say he's a top five back? He's shown flashes, all of last year but I'm not ready to say he's a top five back when he's had one healthy season. Is he a top five talent? Probably. Top five back? IMO, no.
yea ive always liked ronnie even back in his sec days. he could be a top five back but isnt right now. of course 3 of the top 5 are ray rice willis mcgahee and leron mcclain lol
I WASNT!!! no, really, i wasnt ok, yeah i was no, but they do fumble Copyright ©2008 - RonnieBrownTown All Rights Reserved
normally, your right. most rbs arent worth a #2 pick. but in that draft, we got very lucky with ronnie. 1. alex smith 2. ronnie brown 3. braylon edwards 4. cedric benson 5. carnell williams 6. pacman jones 7. troy williamson 8. antrell rolle 9. carlos rogers 10. mike williams. seriously, just check out that list. There are guys on there who've already been traded, cut, and are out of the league. Others have shown promise but failed to meet draft expectations. Brown and Braylon are the only two to make the pro bowl.
Yeah, I don't think he's proven his worth as a #2 pick, but thats just like Ginn. Not really his fault he was taken there. Bad choice of words by me I suppose, that damn article pissed me off though
I knew that draft class was bad, but when you lay it out like that, it was really horrific. I believe our 1st round draft pick that year was Dan Cody, and he's been on IR literally his whole career.
