Anyone care to let me know why Jason Garret hasn't been mentioned what so ever as a possible candidate for the Dolphins Head coaching position??? Miami gave him his start basically why wouldn't he want to come back?? and Why wouldnt we want him??? If its simply an issue of him not being a "Parcells guy" I can accept that but haven't heard a word

There's a deal, imo, in place between Jerry Jones and HWH that Miami can interview some of his asst coaches and not others.

I also think Garrett would want more autonomy with his first hc job

Whos the "WE" your refer to? The man making the calls now is Bill parcelles and he has Zero history with garrett. He might also harber some resentment that jason is getting as the Offensive coordinator when the team was built by him and they were getting some good productivity prior to Garret arriving.

Romo gained experience and of course the addition of T.O has helped a ton!

Bill is looking for HIS guys and even though he was here before I do not think he's a BILL guy..

If he was so highly regraded when Miami was looking for a head-coach why did they not give him a change? I know he was not even a Coordinator here, but Jason is not Ready for Head Coach. He has proven he can handle the offense of a good team for one year. Rebuilding a team from the ashes might be a bit much for him right now..

Look Cam was a GREAT offensive coordinator for years and he could not handle this team.. I think this is the reason he's not getting many H.C Looks regardless of what the people say about him..

exactly... why are we anointing him as the greatest coach ever all of a sudden and its a mockery that hes not coming up as a candidate?

he may or may not be a great coach one day, but hes only a 1 year O coordinator, we have no idea if he would be ready to handle head coaching responsibilities...

someone who might know would be Jeff Ireland... and hes not even looking in Garretts direction, that should be telling...

I like Garrett more than Sparano myself. Parcells has always talked up Garrett, so that's not an issue in my eyes.

Personally, I think Parcells and Jerry Jones have a little understanding that went something like this.

Bill, you can have Ireland and Gaines for your front office, you can have Sparano for your HC and if you want Bowles, well you can have him too, but if you sniff around Garrett I'm going to scream bloody murder and give you a hard time with everyone. :confused2:

I just think Garret would be perfect for the organization as far as what I'v heard around the NFL and it being his first coaching job what better..........(or worse) than having Parcell's to go to for advice

Jason Garrett does not have enough experience yet. He needs some more time on the job.

IM not sold on garret what is said in the press and public is fluff as far as I am concerned.
What is said in private might be much different. How often do you hear anyone say Well jason hes too young not enough experience, and I think he would fail as a Head coach?

In the NFL with people losing there Job ever year it's not logical to talk bad about ANYONE as they may control your paycheck in a few months..

So this love fest for Garret from other NFL coaches etc really means Zip, Zero or at best to be taken with a grain of salt.

Look at Norv Turner he's a Horrible coach (proven a few times!) But on Sand Diego with a GOOD team he has somehow manged to make it in the playoffs and looks like hes doing a good job, but we all know in 2/3 years San Diego is going down.. and fast..

I don't get the overall infactuation with Jason Garrett. What makes people so sure he'd make a good head coach in the NFL? Hell, it hasn't been that long since he was a back up QB. He is not very experienced in coaching overall. I'd rather not take a chance like that right away. He is just too green at this point.

Well, you can also look at it and say he has more football experince than a bunch of Head Coaches right now. His father was a College head coach and a coach for the Giants, Saints and Browns anlong with being a head coach in the WFL to go with being a scout for the Cowboys from 1986-2004. His brother is a coach on the Rams. The kid was brought up eating and breathing football.

Everyone seems to be buying into the Parcells way, Parcells himself said garrett will be a good HC in the league someday.

I really think in the long run, Garrett will be better than Sparano.

Regardless with whether the fact that some think he will be a good coach and others not, I still don't understand why he is linked with other clubs and not us? Even if it were only rumours.

Garrett is Jones' guy! jones loves him. If Garrett went to jones today and said, the dolphins (or whoever) have offered me a job, jones would fire Wade and make Garrett his HC, promise you.

Garrett is one year removed from a QB Coach. He doesnt have the experience i'd want for this franchise right now. i think we need a tough nails kind of guy and from what im hearing, that could be Sparano.

So there is absolutely no chance he will end up as HC of the Redskins then?

Don't think Garrett has a shot since Sparano has basically already accepted the HC position. I don't know if Garrett is really as great as people make him out to be since Sparano called the plays last year and was supposedly mentoring him for the role as OC.
