1 Montana 2 Unitas 3 Fran Tarkenton 4 John Elway 5 Dan Marino * Manning may be the best at the end of his carrer along with Brady if he comes back strong. Super Bowls and winning them is a huge mark on a QB.
How the F does their punter do that? It's insane. He might as well just walk the ball down there and gently place it at the 1 yard line.
Totally, its just insane. He did that to us in our game as well, guys a machine. Havent seen this kind of stuff since Ray Guy for the Raiders really. Punting, the lost art.
They should try him out on offense or defense EDIT: Yeah, replace Rivers at QB. He can just kick the ball way down the field and the WR's can go get it.
Hmm...alright Alen, what would you consider an effective receiver? If tonight has shown us anything, it is the Chargers tackles are not very good this year...Freeney and Mathis are eating them alive.
Clark Kent Elway 3rd all time in TD passes with 300 3rd all time in yards and a few rings to go with it. Are you a football Newbie?
An effective receiver? One that can get open, doesn't drop balls and is consistent. None of those apply to the targets McNabb has had in his time with Philadelphia, outside of Terrell Owens.
Not sure why... I've got a dvd of Marino throwing 6 TD and LOSING... Football is a team game. If a QB play correlated to SB victories, Marino would have more then he has fingers. Oh, and Trent Dilfer...
I said HUGE....Not the only factor. Also, honorable mentions Bart Starr....Sammy Baugh... Otto Graham
I think Rivers was playing with a torn ACL. Huge play by the Chargers there. I hope they can win this game.
So those guys hitting 8/900 yds aren't really effective? 2 minutes to go, I think the chargers have 1 timeout, but Rivers hasn't been really efficient this game.
Thanks I plan on staying Just so everybody knows, I am a girl. Alot of people keep calling me man and dude (understandable, I don't have a username that makes me seem like a girl), which is fine, I find it amusing
Also effective and good are completely different things. None of those players needed to be gameplanned around. McNabb spread the ball pretty evenly because he didn't have one of those game changing players that most top notch QB's have. Also you make it sound like he did nothing with those guys. If I'm not mistakes he took them to 3 NFC championships and a superbowl.
"This is the time where Phillip Rivers cannot force any throws... do anything stupid..." Really, John? You don't say?
Wierd playcall by the Colts. Spread out allowed an effective SD passrush to get to Manning, who held the ball to long. Wierd call. I understand if you want to throw it, but at least make the bolts pretend to honor the run. Rivers can move a big step closer to being elite here.
Reid has always preferred scheme to "one guy". I believe it was 4, and I'm not saying "he did nothing with those guys", the people who go overboard say he never had any guys to throw to. Wow...good game so far.
For all the talk of Penny's week arm, Rivers underthrows more WRs than most QBs I consider to be good or better.
Im hoping the chargers make a late comeback here Id love tos ee Manning go down! why sint LT playing?!?! I missed the first 3 quarters of this game... I was watching Team Canada play Russia in the HockeyWorld Junior Championships... btw... CANADA is going for GOLD...... AGAIN!!!!!! and the Americans were beaten out by the Slovakians! Go Chargers!
He's similar to Peter King. Always stating the obvious. Except that King doesn't focus on the ***-pads and hairstyles like Madden.
Oh man...Sproles down 1 yd short, they are going to kick the FG from the 6 yd line...40 seconds left or so...
I'm not saying they were terrible players. I'm saying that none of them were Steve Smith, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, type game changers. They were guys who could do their job but none could take over a game to help his QB out.
