Exactly right. This is going to be a tough defensive battle imo. I can't wait to watch it, though!!! hurry up Sunday!

 

How quickly the Ravens fans forget our 1-15 team ripping that same defense apart last year with Cleo Lemon at the helm. It can be done. And if Cleo can do it, Chad should be able to find away the second time around.

 

It is not the same defense and not the same team. Just like your team is not the same team.

Those two teams last year were so up and down, making dumb mistakes and really causing an NFL season abortion.

 

what makes that site.."official" ? just curious. is there an association with the actual team and ownership?

 

Baltimore fans are pretty rough. and i hate blanket statements like that. the 2 kids who been posting here have shown nothing but class and knowledge.

but doing a few semester at UMD, i got some first hand experience and they can be obnoxious and brutal. be glad we're not a NY team...they have a HUGE inferiority complex to that city, and the hate runs deep.

 

B-town does seem to have some fixation with NY approval or an I-95 inferiority complex of sorts. Orioles fans love to hate the Yankees. Not quite sure why. But hey....what do I know I am a Cardinal fan.


I prefer to save the anger for anything New England.

When the Ravens fist came to Baltimore I could not stand Jacksonville. But now I am not sure anyone in Jacksonville really cared.

 

The Ravens fans we have had here have been all class, but I just couldn't see us going over there and trying to have good conversation.

Even Yankees fans love to hate them. My point was Orioles fans have this big Yankees rivalry/hate thing and it is most likely one sided. Who really is afraid of the O's and who could hate them more than their hometown fans right now?

A win is a win, a loss is a loss. At this time of year, it's euphoria or depression regardless of margin.

 

I don't know the numbers now, but a year ago 22 teams had their own forums. The Dolphins used to be one of them.

Honestly I'm not worried about it either way.

Our ranks are tight and strong. Unless folks like you decided not to visit anymore, we'd be fine. And even if everybody left, we'd still be fine. We'd simply do what everybody else does: downsize.

The Dolphins have flirted with re-opening their forum many times over the last 8 years. They even opened a fan end of things last year and for whatever reason abandoned it (understandable considering the season). I was one of the beta testers. There's always been the possibility of it happening. And I've always felt like we could leverage it to actually help our site.

There are many other reasons why I'm not worried about it and none of them are knocks against the Dolphins. Rather, they are pluses for the team. Trust me, they would never allow the kinds of things you see on Baltimore's and many of the other official site forums you see out there. Just not how this organization operates.

And after 5 years, they are still the only team that has an annual Web Weekend for its fan sites. They are class all the way around. And they've never been about hurting us. Hell, they actually LINK to us.

 

New owner coming in might change that. I hope not

 

yea a lot of guys over there are tough and fly their mouths off the cuff. kinda like i did with the ray lewis murder deal in the other thread. it's the north baby. its take and dont give. its dog eat dog. it's whatever. most ravens fans are tough just like the team. u guys over here for the vast majority are calmer and more level headed.

You haven't seen Boston fans especially the ones on ESPN. Those take the cake for the least level-headed posters in Internet history.

 

I will agree that people in the North East (and Upper Mid Atlantic) can have a harder edge than some other places. I notice it when I visit family in the Mid West. However, Miami probably has quite a few transplants from the North east.
