Now that it is Chad vs Brett?

    24-13 (Jets of course).

Just like Chad knows us, our defense knows Chad. He is going to have a hard time getting anything done with the weapons he doesn't have.

naaa, the irony would be if we were ahead late in the fourth and Chad gives up a pick six.. and beats us again.

    That would be funny.

Either way, this is a great year to be a Jets fan. Lots of excitement, lots of hope and hey, even a few of our best know players on other teams (Chad/Vilma) to watch for.

Now that it is Chad vs Brett, I say 24-17 JETS win.

The Jets, on paper, have drastically improved more than the Fins have this year, IMO.

I'm not denying that but I think you have to look at the situations. The Jets want to win now and spent big money on FA to improve their team, while the Dolphins have taken a rebuilding approach and while they did spend money in FA, it wasn't as much as the Jets.

I agree to a certain extent, but a 1-15 team is not appealing to a potential FA. Not like 4-12 is any better, but Pace chose the Jets over the Fins.

I believe Pace chose the Jets because of how they welcomed him and the money he got.

Chad's knowledge of the Jets playbook falls on the plays that Chad Pennington will run. Might he help the coaching staff a little bit? Sure. A little bit, but the coaching staff I'm sure has knowledge of the offense as well.

I'll say this again and maybe someone will listen this time:

The offense last season under Kellen Clemens was far more vertical and just flat out different than it was with Pennington under center. For all the fans who attended Favre's practice yesterday the offense was throwing more and more around the field and much different throws. The Jets have tons of plays, plays that suit Clemens/Favre and then the plays that suited Pennington. You might as well throw those out. The Jets receivers, backs and OLine can also help along the Jets defenders with hints as well.

I'll take the defense knowing Pennington's every move over Pennington knowing his main plays in the playbook.

Knowing the plays, not knowing the plays doesn't mean a hill of beans. It's not like Pennington is going to be yelling at the defense every time they line up. Or that the defense is going to be able to remember every single play, then in the heat of the game say, oh they're running this.

They mentioned it on some show, but how he will help the Dolphins out is on the tendencies of the players, plays, etc. Different offense or not, Pennington has been with Clemens for a couple of years now and may know a tendency or two of his--just like the Jets defense will of Pennington. He may know that if you show a safety at the line, Clemens has a tendency to check to an ISO run to the opposite side or something, thus making it a good call to maybe fake the blitz there and prepare for that run.

It will go both ways, the Jets will know Pennington's tendencies and Pennington will know there tendencies. Either way both defenses will be helped in what should be a defensive game already--ya, defensive with two poor defenses from last year.

We're a very good football team in home openers. Other than losing to Houston in 2003, and losing to Tennesee in 2004 (which were awful hurricane conditions), we've been really tough--including winning our last one against the Denver Broncos in 2005.

Not to mention I'm 3-0 when live at Miami Dolphin games.

I think we win this game. I really do. I think we win a close game 16-13. We win by 4 points or less.

wow, talk about specific predictions aqua. tell you what, if you get any of those offensive stats exactly correct, I will donate 10 bucks to a charity of your choosing (hopefully this site). i say offensive because you weren't very specific on the D stats. if you add in tackles on those i may count them as well

I was wrong in my prediction of the outcome and our rushing attack, but a couple "what if's" and this score could've come to fruition. Take away Favre's desperation 4th down play, and we tack on the FG at the end and bingo.

But, a loss is a loss. We'll get em' next time.
