During the offseason when posters were calling for Porter's head because of his contract, I said, look at what we just tried to offer Pace, and he hasn't exactly produced much more in the way of sacks. Didn't like the prospects of signing him then, and am glad now what transpired.
Someone mentioned he played for the Cards and the Jets so he doesn't know what it's like to be division winner...............think about the irony and it's obvious why Pace is so bitter. He became a FA and instead of trying to stay with AZ he left so he could get paid and play for a winner. He ultimately rejects Miami's offer for the Jets But what 2 teams are division winners and what 1 team isn't?
Calvin is just sour that he didn't sign here. He can talk all he wnats but I know one thing for sure. He went one on one with Jake Long and got dominated. Football is a man's game, it's a war, and Calvin Pace got owned all day by Big Jake.
Its funny when players react like that... Hey Calvin, we ran all over you guys. Next time try stopping us with your play during the game instead of your mouth after the game... And dont forget, you choose to go to the Jets over Miami.. Great choice pal
Every time I hear someone make a comment about our offense like Pace did... what you wrote is exactly what I think. It's one thing if you defend it successfully, but if you get beaten by the Wildcat... then turn around and insult it as being 'unprofessional' or 'amateurish', then it surely doesn't say a lot about your defense. For the 1000th time... it's simply a different formation. It isn't any more of a 'gadget' play than pulling a guard... or a reverse... or play action... or a TE screen... or a WR screen. Every single offense in the NFL is trying to fool every single defense in the NFL. Misdirection and power running are staples of football strategy, and the Wildcat, or single-wing, is nothing more than a formation that takes full advantage of those two very basic principles. I will also say this: In the very early days of football, the 'powerhouse' colleges saw throwing the forward pass as 'amateurish'. That is until the best college team in those days... Army... was challenged to a game by a 'nobody'... Notre Dame... and was beaten soundly by the forward pass... at home... in front of a crowd that saw the game as little more than a scrimmage for the Army team. If it works, it works.
1st of all Brad smith and the jets tryed the wildcat 2nd of all...yea we ran trick plays but ricky droped a big pass and ronnie missed a wide open Fasano I believe sorry I was drunk....maybe Haynos though...I like Haynos I watched him in his time At UMD since im from MD. He needs to work on his hands tho!
Well his own team tried to run that high school play and we stop it. Pace just shut up and go back to your yoga classes.
They won now, at the beginning of the season, unfortunately for him now was then for us and now is the future for him Have a good offseason Calvin, enjoy pumping martini's while the team you rejected dances his way in the postseason
Hell if those trick plays had worked to full potential yesterday Miami would have hung 38 on them (Ricky & Haynos Drops).
