i would just say wow if he was given up by the cards. its just a rumor as of now, but I do think we would be a possible team to go after him too. I say our first and a 3rd for Fitz and their 1st.

    What do you guys think?

I think the Cardinals are somewhere in the middle of the first round, like 15th or 16th. I wouldn't want to drop that far away from the top of the draft, but if there were another way to get Fitzgerald, I hope they would jump on it.

It's been rumored for a year now, the Cards have some decisions to make with their current and upcoming FA's, so it's something that bears watching.

The Cards have a lot of young talent that will be UFA's over the next couple of years. Dockett, A.Wilson, Boldin, Fitz, and Dansby just to name a few. It's very possible they have to let some of them go. Keeping Fitz should be a priority though. They drafted him high and he has performed great. I have a feeling the Cards will find a way to keep him and Boldin. They'd be stupid not to.

We have more important postions to fill. We need to invest our picks and money into our lines and defense.IMO WR is a complimentry postion that should be added after the foundation has been set. We are now in a rebuilding phase,we need to quit thinking we are one player away from the superbowl. IMO we haven't reached the WR stage yet.

If they have cap problems, why would they want the #1 overall pick in the draft in order to give a 60+ million contract to a rookie?

That's just too far down. We have a Ginn that we can't get the ball to deep! We need DL & OL, and I think BP will address this with our 1st. The talent drops after the first 5-6 picks then drops again @ 10-12. Dropping from 1 to 15 just won't do!

The Cardinals are a very very stupid franchise though SMOKE, Bidwell refuses to spend the money to keep players like Fitzgerald....

Fitzgerald's cap figure is $15 million. Anquan Boldin, Darnell Dockett, Karlos Dansby, etc. are all free agents or pending free agents. There was some trade talk rumoured to have taken place with New England a year ago. I think it's unlikely, but........

Sorry folks. Trust me, very VERY slim chance either he or Boldin are leaving here. If either did, Bidwell better be right behind them........

Bryant Johnson is probably gonna be the WR who is gone..and I would LOVE to have him in Orange and Aqua

While I agree that we have some important holes to fill on this team (mainly defense), I think a legit #1 WR would be a big help to Beck in his development. It all depends on what the Cards are asking for IF they make him available. Fitz isn't a 30-something veteran, he's a young talented player that would be well worth a pick IMO.

Again, it all depends on if they make him available and what they would be asking for.

it was on first and 10 but now they are saying that the cards arent looking to trade. Dont think they wont be listening to offers though with fitz in a contract year earning 15 mil

Even a stud TE would be welcome @ #1 before that trade. In case you had not noticed, we keep getting killed on the line. That's been neglected too long. At least at TE you have some blocking power, as well as something to cause concern for the LB's and safetys.

HEres the deal. He is only 25, has been one of the top 15 recievers in the league since coming in, and WILL re-negotiate to stay in Phoenix. He loves sharing the WR spot with Boldin, and is VERY well liked in the Phoenix area..

Unless a team overpays (Like a 1st and 3rd) , Fitz isnt going anywhere

That would be news to me

I mean, anything is possible, but I just find it VERY unlikely. He has been very well liked here. All indications are that he will be here.

The other end is as I stated, it is gonna take quite a bit to lure him away from Bidwell...

EDIT: For the record, IF Fitz was available, I would be at the absolute VERY FRONT of the Get Fitz bandwagon...I would consider giving up quite a bit for him actually, but not as much as what Bidwell is going to be asking- especially with where in the rounds our picks fall

Arizona has alot of upside. Fitz is the Franchise player IMO, he's not going anywhere. I can see Boldin going somewhere before him.

I would Love that trade. We get an elite WR to combine with Ginn(a speed monster). With that pick(cardinals pick 13) we can still a good player.(the patriots pick late every year and they find talent on da D-line) I am sure we can get a good player that drops at da top 10. (Malcolm Jenkins/Aqib Taliq should be all availabe). I would also ask for a 5th pick from them.

Getting Larry and their 15th pick wouldn't be enough for the 1st overall pick. They would need to add a 2nd or 3rd this year or next for us to get value.

i'd ilike to do that. by the way arizona has 16th pick overall. larry fritz is awesome. we need a number 1 WR.
i'd rather trade cincy for chad johnson and then take james laurinaitis MLB OSU. he's a beast. we might be able to fall to 16 but i doubt it. maybe a a CB like malcom jenkins, osu or micheal jenkins south florida.......just definately not NO QB.
if we dont trade our pick will be either dorsey or chris long

Eh? Fitz was picked 2nd overall a few years ago and has done nothing but perform. So far in his 4 years he is averaging 82 catches and 8 TD's per year. Larry plus the 15th for our 1st is a very good deal imho and I think the Cards would be absolutely nuts to do it.

Funny isnt it. Almost like Madden Madness or something...

IF Fitz were to be traded, you can bet the premium would be more like a 1st and a 3rd...and a conditional first day pick next year..I mean hell, we got a second and seventh for Wes Welker...Wes FREAKING Welker folks....

Are you kidding me? Fitz and the 16th pick for the #1 overall is an absolute STEAL for Miami.

As for the cap issue, once his contract is re-negotiated and he's re-signed to a long term deal, that number will shrink substantially. He'll still be in the 10 million dollar price range, but he's not getting 15 a year anytime soon.

Also, Boldin's got 5 years left before he can become a free agent. Just an FYI.

And BTW: No, no he isnt a "Much better reciever"...IMO of course

Fitz will more than likely never hit the market same with Boldin. HOWEVER, that leaves guys like free for the picking (Wilson would probably be kept, and you can make the case that Dockett is deserving of the franchise tag. Dansby is a very good WLB but I think a lot of people in the Cards organization see him as easily replaceable)
