showed what an absolute class act the guy is. No one could hold it against him if he had gloated, but he didn;t, not even a little bit. in fact, he was humble to a fault, and said he was happy the Jets gave him the opportunity to play for them, and also for granting him free agency so he could catch on elsewhere.

combine that with his play for us this season, and you have an amazing story, and apparently an amazing human being as well. i have enjoyed watching him this season, and took for granted the player he has been these last several years. wow.

i have gotten to the stage of life where, although I am a lifelong Dolphins fan and will remain one, i am drawn to the "good guys" in sports, and tend to root for them regardless of team.

I pulled for JT and for Zach to do well this season, and was even prepared to root for Dallas, because I thought Dallas was a Super Bowl contender and Miami (who knew?) would be a .500 team or slightly worse.

and I love that Chad Pennington was the guy to lead the team at QB. amazing story! amazing team! amazing season!

this is the most fun I have had as a Dolphin fan since i was a little kid watching the 72 run with my dad!

and this means even more to me, right now; yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of the death of my lifelong friend (and a fellow Dolphin fan), who i memorialize in my signature.

I would have expected nothing else from him. What a great guy and player. Too bad the Jets never realized it. Actually, I'm glad the Jets never realized it!

Sometimes, Humility in the face of one's tormentors is the Ethical Approach.

I cherished the look in Favre's eyes when it became clear, the Jets were done, however Penny is such a class guy, I'd hate to see him talk some smack in front of the cameras..

Now in the locker room...that is a different story...our Band of Brothers would expect nothing less then a "thank you" from Chad, and I'm sure he gave one.

Who in this world would have thought, 1 year ago, that we'd be watching in 2008 Chad Pennington giving a post game interview in 2008 talking about himself and the phins in the playoffs?

i remember as a kid being amazed to realize that Freeman McNeil, even though he played for the Jets(!), was a classy human being. Couldn't believe it, but I couldn't deny it. Glad another classy Jet wound up on the Phins.

Favre handled it as well, with class. You guys have to remember he wanted to play again, but the Packers ran him out, just like the Dolphins wrongfully showed Dan Marino the door. I liked that Favre went to the Jets, and I really had no interest in Chad, based on the rumors you'd hear from the fans and league. Boy was I wrong. Pennington is really a smart quarterback and I never got to watch him like I did this season and preseason.

We got some nice players running the ball, Williams, Brown, Polite and Cobbs....

I heard we were the 1st team to win their division after going 1-15 the previous season. And we tied a league record by only turning the ball over 13 times this season, and the last team to do that was last years Giants, who by the way, won a Super Bowl and gave the Patriots their loss.

Also Marino's passing yardage record stood by only 16 yards, as Brees tried to break it on a long pass with 1 second left.

    d-1

I honestly think Pennington is one of the best leaders in all of sports in our generation, you put his mind, soul and heart in the body of someone like Steve Young, ohhhh boy......

This might sound odd but he keeps reminding me of the great Larry Bird and only because like Bird, Pennington has made the most with what little he has and no one works on his game harder than him, just like Bird. And just like Bird he makes his teammates better with his confidence and leadership.

And like Bird he is as a modest athlete you will find today.
