Wow, that would be an interesting and unexpected move. If Schneider wants a guy bad enough he'll definitely shell out the money to get him.

They should go after Shotty. They owe him after firing him after one season.

Ouch indeed! It just goes to show that this process is not going to be as easy as some believe. Even with Parcell's at the wheel.

As bad as he thinks we are, we did torch his defense on third and long in overtime! He's still sulking that he lost to an 0-13 team.

He knows he wants to come here.

Rex Ryan is a DC. And just like his dad. he is not a HC. And never will be. We already made a mistake with Cam. If he thinks He is a HC than let another team take a chance on him. Am supporting Bill on this issue. Just cause the Dolphins were 1 and 15. doesn't mean that we have to take a chance on Rex.

well thats pretty disappointing. im out of town right now in toronto for a trade show, so i''ve been rather disconnected from dolphins world, but i looked up at the tv at the bar earlier tonight and saw gibbs retired and for some reason... i dont know why but i was shocked to see gibbs packed it in again. im not sure why i was shocked, but i was. but its too bad it sounds like we may miss out on ryan.

    In the draft war room
Why is it that when a guy sees a rebuilding team he tucks his tail and runs the other way? Why wouldn't a guy want to be a part of building a team into a contender? I want a motivated guy who wants to be a part of a teams makeover and not someone afraid to take on a challenge anyway. Screw Rex Ryan. He must be an idiot like his stupid old man was.

I was more impressed with what his brother did with the Raiders Defense.

    Whatever happened to him?

    Didn't they let him go?

Why is everyone worried about all this story said was Ryan left and said Parcells has some work to do.

What did you guys expect for Ryan to be named HC? cause I dont think thats the plan and why people feel he was gonna be interviewed for the HC and then on the same day get hired to be DC is crazy.

Relax I didnt see Ryan fitting in as HC or DC but we'll see

:ffic:He's mad because we are the reason he lost his job.

All jokes aside, I was hoping that we could hire him as our DC. His comment is a little disturbing, being a true Fin fan I hope we are closer to turning this franchise around than Ryan is hinting at. I like the Jeff Ireland hiring, I've heard nothing but great things about his knowledge and insight on player evaluations, and he is someone we were sorely missing in past drafts. He will be instrumental in setting the foundation for this team, and from what I've been hearing about him, we are in good hands.

Bringing in David Lee is a true sign that we will be going young at the QB position. What Lee has done with Romo, can only be helpful with developing Beck or some other young QB.

If Tony Sparano is our next HC. I hear that he is more than ready to take over a head coaching position in the NFL. They said he is extremely knowledgable and well prepared. He also can be the type of coach that will get in your face if he has too but at the same time the players respect him.

so basically Rex Ryan and Todd Haley are out

whos left? Sparano...Garrett...Frazier...maybe even Al Saunders or Gregg Williams. im not sure i like Frazier seeing as how his defense was the worst in pass defense. Seeing as how Garrett was with the Dolphins for awhile, id be all over him.

I really dont want him anyways. I would rather have an offensive guy than a defensive guy at this point

He did it because they had the wrong defensive package on the field for what the rats were showing. In that case you can defend the TO, but I still think he should have just left it alone. He should have noticed the wrong package long before the ball was snapped.

I agree. I would only want Ryan here as a DC, not a HC.

So far you have to like the way this is turning out. We totally cleaned house and we are hiring from the VP on down. The idea of having two football gurus run the hiring process makes me feel a lot better than having Wayne and one of his real estate buddies conduct the interviews.

Whether or not you like the candidates so far, you at least have to like the fact that we have proven football savvy guys in the front office who know how to build a strong foundation of good coaches and a stable structure.

I love that quote.. We need it to be plastered about on all the boards. Everyone here seems to think we will be a playoff team next year, and Bill is a Miracle worker. This is the TRUTH Bill has his hands full.

With all the new changes once again (and I wanted them!) we will have to rebuild from the ground up. That means JT, Zack and anyone else older but worth something should be traded to some NFC team.

We need to sign young Free-Agents and Build trhough the draft. We have no real shut down Corners, or safety's our Dline was horrible against the run, and our offense could not get first downs..

I think 2008 we will be a MUCH better team than we were in 07 we should have won 5-6 games last year, and I think we will be improved in coaching and talent this year, but I feel we are looking at an 8-8 season which would be a HUGE turnaround for this team...

REX is a good defensive coordinator, and if he thinks he will be the head coach in Washington I wish him good luck... I dont think he will make a top flight Head Coach..
